The vet tech at my new vet seems to think I need Hills diet diabetic food for Baby to level out? What’s the thoughts here. She just mentioned that when I took Baby in!

I personally don’t like Hills food due to the ingredients. Also the hills, both wet and dry, are higher in carbs than many cheaper over the counter foods. Since Baby has had no need for insulin since Thursday, you may be on the right track with what you’re feeding now. Let us know what the vet says today, we may have some food choices to help with whatever condition she’s diagnosed with.

Yes from what I’ve read here it’s not a fav. We’ll see what they suggest. Cost is an issue for me...

unlike my regular vet, our diabetes vet specialist never once recommended those special vet food diets. Although i already knew from reading forums here ahead of our visit with her, she actually recommended fancy feast classics and Evo turkey dry food for free-feeding (our diabetic cat needs to gain some weight back and we have 9 other cats so a dry food option is a must for our home, we use YA zero though for now). IMO a vet who specializes in the diabetes area is better to listen to than a vet tech who may not always know whats best.

Yes thank you! I just picked her up & they said the Food (friskies pate) is fine. Just a thought if it wasn’t under control. But her bg is normal range now so no insulin. I’ll keep an eye on her!
