Dakota is a sweet, sweet boy; extremely friendly, gentle and loving. He will sit right next to you and meow and meow and meow until you pet him. Dakota would even rather be petted than eat! He likes to play - when you play with him, not so much on his own but why would he? That’s no fun. He enjoys sleeping on your bed with you. Truth is, Dakota really doesn't care much about anything as long as he is being petted!! And he purrs constantly!

Dakota’s challenge in life is that he is a diabetic kitty. He needs a special person to understand how much he has to give and who is willing to give to him in return. He is doing very well on two injections of insulin a day (which are easy to do and he takes them very well).

Dakota does not like other cats and probably isn’t too fond of dogs -- he really needs to be the only fur child in his new home. After all, why would he want to share his special person(s) when he can have all the attention? Young children would not be comfortable for Dakota but older, gentle children should be fine.

Are you the “forever lap” for Dakota? He will be your best buddy and your constant loving companion. How special is that?

Please contact Cari at (619) xxx-xxxx or email at carilovescats @ yahoo.com (remove spaces) if you would like to help this very special boy by welcoming him into your home and heart. We would need an adoption application and there is an adoption fee that includes neutering, all medicals, and microchipping. Thank you.

Edited post to remove phone number. Please PM me if you want it. It is in San Diego County, CA.

Best of luck with finding Dakota a home. Do you have a Petfinder link you could post? Could the adoption fee be waived for Dakota; it's difficult enough to place a diabetic cat without asking a person to pay for it.

His Petfinder ad is here; Posting ID: 274743 it is still waiting to be authorized.

I will have to double check about the adoption fee being waived.

    Thank you.
