Tonka was up and busily talking to me this morning, to tell me that he was very hungry and could I please get up and feed him.
Strangely, his gobbling days seem to be better for his blood sugar levels than his grazing days.
He's in gobbling mode again tonight, on his usual food, so I'll see where he is in the morning. It could just be a difference in the Evo vs. the DM for the bulk of his meals the last day that kept him lower, but if he's still a nice level tomorrow morning, it's looking like his pancreas might be working even in the absence of meals throughout the day/night.
