My insulin is Lantus and we are using 0.1 units per shoot.

    Thanks!

Personally, I would not give any insulin. 104 and 90 are normal non-diabetic blood glucose levels

    Thank you!

I did not shoot and have monitored her numbers this evening. We shall see what the morning brings.

Well, we have a 215 this AM. Do I dare consider a OTJ trial or just monitor numbers the next few days before looking at an OTJ trial?

    Thanks for the replies!

Maybe check about 2 hours after feeding to see how high she goes.
If over 250, go back to the 0.1 units am & pm, perhaps w/ the possibility of shooting only am.

Are you meal feeding, doing timed mini meals, or free feeding?
I'm thinking that mini meals (ex see what Sienne does in Lantus - she's got it down to a science!) may make it possible to OTJ.
Perhaps try that on the weekend when you can monitor w/ a curve.

I meal feed. I test, feed & shoot at 6:30 AM & PM. This is due to my work schedule. I am usually gone for 11-12 hours for work. Usually she does not eat all of the food, but comes back and snacks for the next hour.

I gave her a 0.1 tonight before reading your post and will try a your morning only suggestion Friday. Might be a good time for me in my schedule to try skipping the evening shot. My work schedule is going to keep me away from home on Friday until at least 3 hours after the PM shot time and I can then be home Saturday and Sunday to monitor her.

    Thank you!
