When George bounced I just took it as an opportunity to take time for myself, if I kept busy I stopped worrying about the reds. I know how hard it is to see those reds. Just ignore them for now, but perhaps try and grab a ketone test at some point, it's advisable to check for ketones daily if they are running high.

The bounce will clear, she just still seems to be enjoying being on the trampoline.

347 at +3. I'll try to check again around +6 to see where her nadir might be. Can't be home for earlier sticks.

Checking Mala for keytones is, well, challenging. This is a 6 cat household, and Mala has a shy bladder. She rarely pees when and where we can see her, unless she's peeing inappropriately. If she whizzes up the pantry, I can do a test, but other than that, no go.

that sounds fine, no need for more.

OK that sounds tricky, BFG is very regular and is shameless, so I would always catch him in his morning pee, and scoot a spoon under his butt to gather a sample.

You can get blood ketone meters.
@Bobbie And Bubba uses one, she's out this morning but I'm sure she'll pop round later

Davey bean did a +5, got 280. It's coming down, but slowly.

Little girl is petitioning for more food. She nibbles at breakfast and dinner, then demands snacks a few hours later. I'm torn on whether to give them or not. The snack is question is the previously unfinished breakfast or dinner, and it's low carb.

Not giving it means she's literally IN MY FACE yelling at me, sometimes with feet swiping at my nose. She'll nose nip as well, if given the chance.

Thoughts?

I use the Precision Xtra Meter. The meter itself is not terribly expensive ( Amazon) maybe 25 -30 bucks, it is the ketone strips that are so expensive. I get them from Universal Drug Store in Canada online and they are much cheaper than buying from a local drug store. But for me, worth it as I could never find Bubba in the box and if I did happen to go in the basement and he was in it, he would pop out. Very private is my Pirate boy.

At what time is she wanting her snack?
I would try and avoid feeding late in the cycle, but you could divide her meal quota up to be given to her regularly up until +6/+7
I would not feed after +10.
Would that work?

That is informally what I do now. She gets meal + shot, no food again until around +5/6. She's a nibbler, and loves to tease.

If she must have a late cycle snack, you might try something like a little baked chicken.....it shouldn't cause her BG to go up since it's pure protein and might make her happier about waiting for her next scheduled feeding
