Yesterday's condo, oops I forgot this AM

Good morning LL, all is normal in ZenerWorld. Zener had an all night slide and we have a blue start to the day! MamaLizBean is off hunting and gathering at the local farmer's market, so night duty bean is putting up the condo. Kitties are napping in the sun and enjoying a relaxing Sunday.

@Wendy & Neko - as instructed, he got on the down slide. ;-)

@Tara & Buster - "the big guy" is one of Zener's nicknames. He used to be BIG and weighed 15lbs, then lost quite a bit after diagnosis. We have to work to hold his weight now at a nice 11lbs 9ish oz. Bus is officially turned around, for now.

@Marje - thanks for the info on the squash. :YMHUG: I also wondered how much you use with your kitters? Sent you a PM too with a question about the brand and type.

Zener had a nice healthy looking poo last night, seems the squash might be starting to bulk up his poo. For those using baby food squash for fiber, what amount and how often do you give squash? We are at about 1/4t per day, slowly increasing.

Hope the kitties aren't too wasted from all the exciting and wonderful parties in LL this weekend. drinking24

Re: 8/11 Zener AMPS 188;+1.5 183;+3 189 how much squash?

Good morning!
I use 1 T. bf squash in Ripley's breakfast each morning ~ but she's constipation-prone, plus taking phosphorous binder (which adds to constipation issues) so I give her quite a bit of squash. It seems to be a good amt. for her.

I hope you're having a great day!

Nice blues for Zener today. I'm glad the squash seems to be helping with his poo.

Re: 8/11 Zener AMPS 188;+1.5 183;+3 189;~6 204 how much squa

I can't find your condo from yesterday. I wanted to see what Marje recommended. I went up and down and back and can't find your condo. Sorry.

Re: 8/11 Zener AMPS 188;+1.5 183;+3 189;~6 204 how much squa

Liz & Anne.....I also would like to know what Marje told you. Would you post please?
I'm jealous of that lovely blue day for Zener. :-D

Thank you very much for your info on meds last night.

Super YAY for Zener's healthly looking poop!!
I'm glad the squash is helping, and it's really good he likes the taste.
It's really a big relief when our finicky eaters accept new things!

Re: 8/11 Zener PMPS 245

Here's your Zener Saturday, part one of squash condo. I have nothing to add there, but am watching with interest. Might have to do something like that with the civie at some point.

Zener, how about another nice slide down tonight?

I hope you two had a nice quiet Sunday. Foraging at the farmer's market is so fun.

Re: 8/11 Zener PMPS 245

Good Sunday evening LL. I have posted the link to yesterday's condo now. I forgot this morning, darn that night duty bean putting up the morning condo!

The mighty Z has been on a slow but steady slide up today since the blue start. Still bounce recovery most likely. We like yellow bounces better than stinky pinky! Appy good this evening, yard rounds in progress. Chief Inspector Poo is keeping an eye on the Z-man out the window as this has been his poo time lately. He is heading out for his new favorite spot.

@Linda - thanks for stopping by on Lucky's special day! Nom nom nom.

@Josie & Ripley - thanks for the amount of squash info. We will balance it out one of these days! We are also giving Zener a touch of miralax to help keep things moving. He isn't on phosphorous binders yet {{{anti-jinx}}} but has decreased GI motility from the FD and that causes issues too with proper and timely poo.

@Ann & Tess - definitely a low key day. Well, except for Ms Tess, she seems to be giving you a thrill.

@carla - paws crossed for a return to blues tonight.

@Dyana - I forgot to put the link to his condo! I've got it corrected now.

@Barb & Checkers - well, spank me! I have it there now.

@mariko - you are welcome for the med info that Zener takes. And yes, SUPER YAY for healthy looking poo! dancing_cat Poor appy makes us more crazy than high BG numbers. ;-)

We also have some more info from Marje on the amount of squash. The Homestyle Stage 1 and 2 squash Marje refers to is the Beechnut brand.

I can buy the Homestyle Stage 1 and 2 and both have just 2 gms of sugar but no sugar or any other ingredient added. And it just states "squash" on the label. I haven't been able to tell a difference between the two so I don't know why there is a stage 1 and stage 2 except the stage 1 is in a smaller jar and we go through it in about 5 days whereas I have to split the stage 2 into two portions and freeze one of them (I have a ton of extra baby food jars so I pour half into an extra jar, put it in the frig and then freeze the other half in the original jar).

I give Gus one heaping tsp a day and I never broke into it slowly.

Hoping all in LL have a calm and drama free evening. :YMHUG:

@Wendy & Neko - just missed your post! Thanks for linking to Zener's condo from yesterday. Night duty bean can use the morning help! ;-)

Re: 8/11 Zener PMPS 245

Hi guys,
I guess the squash questions have been answered. Good info there! Z Man had a nice day today. Now, start a new slide for the evening, Zener. Maybe even a green.

How was the 5K race, Liz? I'm sure you did well. Is there a fall race series, too?

The kitties are partying non stop this weekend. Rusty can't wait to have a free minute to come over to your place and help Tillie with the mice.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 8/11 Zener PMPS 245

We're a little late making the rounds but hopefully Zener decides that he doesn't like pink tonight. You know you love cats when there is an interesting poop discussion and we celebrate good poo's! Enjoy the rest of your night and hopefully you all get a good night's sleep!

Re: 8/11 Zener PMPS 245;+3 202

Ah, going down in a nice controlled fashion, what does that mean?

@Wendy & Neko - as instructed, Zener is following your directions! Liz had a very successful time at the market, and we had some great vegetable soup at dinner, with fresh market produce! :-D

@Ella & Rusty - yes, squash questions answered. The depth of knowledge here is always so impressive! And, as requested, another slide may be in the making. Liz finished the 5K in fine form. There isn't a fall race series, but there is an annual run up at higher altitude in the national forest that is a real gem. Liz will have to tell more about it. Tillie is eager for Rusty to get here, there is quite some action in the wood pile tonight!

@Elizabeth & Julia - it's not too late here on west coast time! Per your advice, Zener is not heading toward the stinky pinky zone. And we're all about poo here at our house!

Serious bug hunting going on out on the back patio, must get back to supervise! :?

Re: 8/11 Zener PMPS 245;+3 202

Soooo close to blue Zener! Glad Liz did well in her race. We had a lazy Sunday - dreading going back to tbp after a nice week off. Hope Zener continues to drop sloooowly tonight.
