9/11 Neko PMPS 216 +3 293 - pic

Yesterday was the first day of Levemir and ended with a nice string of blues.

All I can say about this morning is SIGH! So hoping I wouldn't see a pink at +4 and that's one of the highest we've seen for a while. One of the reasons I switched to Levemir is to try and shake those late morning pinks out of Neko's system. I often wonder if Neko has a case of dawn phenomenon. It's only day two, gotta give it more time, but it sure was disheartening after all those nice flat blues last night. I do suspect I'll have to go up in dose, we started at 70% of her Lantus dose. I'll go up tomorrow if I don't see any greens shake loose.

Neko's feeling good in spite of how I feel. She's been out a couple times already for yard patrol. The last one she went to the top step of the stairs and started scratching it to let me know she wanted to go out the front door. :roll: Doesn't she know a simple meow would work as well? :lol: She's now flaked out in the sun in the kitchen. Her fur is looking ever so shiny and she has indulged me with some purring.

Aaaaah ha ha what an awesome tummy. She looks like she would be good at dusting the floors for you!

I hope things go well with finding the right dose of Lev. And I'm really glad the whole Lev switch meant you were up & on the board last night to advise Joey - I was online too but I think I would have just radiated panic over the low test strip situation :shock: so I didn't say anything!

@Nancy - It brings back memories of when we started insulin and how impatient I was. Good lesson to remind myself how new folks feel. Neko does love the sunshine, until she gets too hot. So it's inside too cool off, then back in the sun to heat up. Crazy cat. :lol:

@Carolyn - Neko is one of the few cats who loves raspberries and tummy rubs.

@Amy - Not sure being up last night taught me anything about Neko's Lev cycles. I'm still confused after today too. You may not have heard it in the 'peg, but I was panicked here too. I just can't imagine shooting low with only 5 test strips. :shock: nailbite_smile I get nervous when I'm into my last 50 strips, even though I've got 100 in my backup meter. Thanks goodness for bounces.

@Josie - Come on up and kiss away. Might want to wait 10 minutes though. I just combed it and one of her pants. :-x

Funny that Neko will accept raspberries....
If I did that to Shadow.... it would feel like a bear trap as she would attach herself on my head like a hat.... :shock:

OH gosh, what a great picture!! i just LOVE that tummy!! Neko will let you do raspberries? I gotta tell Ollie, he will roll over and expose tummy, then when you reach over to rub it, claws and teeth :twisted:
Good luck with the new insulin and finding just the right dose. I've got fingers, paws and eyes crossed that it brings those daytime bounces into check.

HI Wendy! What an adorable picture - I'm glad Neko likes tummy rubs - how could one resist? Hope the Levemir works for those mid afternoon slumps. And, that you can maybe get Neko to dive during the day instead of the night!

HI Wendy! Another late visit... but I had to say HI! love the photo, love the pmps. I hoe she has a good PM cycle, but doesn't keep you up late....

I'd just give the lev some time. It could take a few months to get where you were on Lantus.

Just got back from a board meeting. I'll continue doing random tests trying to figure out what Neko looks like on Lev.

@Rhiannon = 70% is the recommended start dose when switching. Some cats react right away, others not. Neko does tummy up a lot, sometimes she even asks for rubs.

@Amy - At least we are down to yellows now. :roll:

@Mary - Good to see you! Tell Ollie all the best black and white cats like their belly rubbed. Civie Theo sort of tolerates it too. But Neko enjoys it.

@Anne - Pants seem a bit small, maybe it's the perspective on the computer screen. :lol: :lol:

@Suzanne - I can't resist giving that tummy a rub. Gotta be careful when I see other cats, not all react the same as Neko.

@Mariko - Another relaxing day for Neko, but I think they all are. :lol: Belly is softer now that I combed it.

@Michelle - Neko often does better PS than mid cycle numbers. :roll: Fabulous weather here too. Gotta love it!

@Marje - A few months!! :shock: :shock: Almost makes me want to go buy another 5 pack of Lantus. Since I saw blues the first day, I got my hopes up. Probably increase soon though.
