Happy Saturday!

Yesterday's condo

9/14 PMPS=104; +2=169

Late post today.
I have been so incredibly tired since last night, so I stayed horizontal all morning, and I feel a bit better now.

Lucy is doing good.
Her number looks better this morning.
She's not feeling on top of the world, she is more sleepy than anything today, but she seems comfortable.
She had a nice solid poo last night, so her bowel movement is good so far since she had her last metronidazole on Wednesday.
She ate her first breakfast really well, ate most of it by herself, but 2nd and 3rd breakfast so-so.

She's been having stuffy/sniffly nose these days.
Well, it's not exactly stuffy/sniffly, but I don't know how to explain it.
When she licks or chews, she makes this funny sounds "gaffgaff", similar to the sound a pug makes (but not as bad).
So I think it may be mucus in her nasal cavity.

I bought Allerplex a while ago, but I hadn't tried it until this morning.
As soon as I opened the bottle, I knew I was in trouble because of the smell, so I was figuring out how to give it to her.
I couldn't find any recommended babyfood in Canada, and I didn't want to mix it in food or syringe-feed.
Today, I remembered how she willingly ate metronidazole in tuna sashime, so I thought " ".
I mixed the Allerplex powder with a bit of water, and mushed a small piece of tuna sashimi, to make a tuna smoothie.
And it worked!!!
I am very very pleased about this, because since I opened the bottle and smelled it, I didn't really believe that I could ever feed it to her in any way.
So this discovery of how to give Allerplex to Lucy has made my day today. :-D

Hope everyone having a nice weekend!!!

Nice BGs Lucy cat_pet_icon I just love your mellow cool colored spreadsheet

I'm glad you found a way to get her to take the Allerplex. I hope it helps her sniffly nose.

Yum, yum, tuna smoothie! Do you give her the water from low-sodium tuna? She might slurp that up too.

Glad to hear your horizontal morning recharged you, Mariko.
Sometimes standing up is highly overrated.

Nice numbers for Lucy today. That's great you found a way to give her the Allerplex. I hope it helps.

Yay for solid poo! I hope the Allerplex helps clear up Lucy's snuffl-i-ness!!

Re: 9/14 Lucy PMPS=104

Thank you for your visits.

Lucy's PMPS number is very nice, but her appy is really off this evening.
She'd eat tuna, but she doesn't want Wellness.
I think this is the combination of her nose issue annoying her and being finicky about the Wellness batch.
I gave her a couple tiny crumbs of cypro.
I usually don't resort to cypro so quickly, but I really didn't want to spend 2 hours sticking my finger with a tiny ball of food in front of her nose tonight.
Unfortunatly, cypro hasn't worked as well as it usually does. Maybe I used too small piece....
But that's OK, she's eating as long as I offer a pea size at a time, slowly repeating.

Re: 9/14 Lucy PMPS=104

Great numbers for Lucy, today! Sorry to hear that her appy is a bit off. Sending appy vines for her. Glad you're feeling better after resting all day. Have a great night.

Well her +2 is 169.....
Today is a pred day, so I expected her number to be high, but still, this is disappointing after a nice PMPS....

I had my reason for holding this does for so long, but I've seen enough of these numbers, so I'm increasing her dose to 1 unit from tomorrow morning.
I still haven't figured out what to do with her steroid dose, but I'll keep it as is for now, until she gives me a clearer sign.

Good luck with the increase. I'm glad she has felt a bit better.

That's so funny about the allerplex, you are a genius!! :-D

Good luck with the increase tomorrow, I'm doing the same barring any surprises tonight.

I've tried finding good baby food to have around in my emergency kit and haven't had any luck finding any either. Good tip on the sashimi! Sometimes if you try different sizes of Wellness cans, you get different textures. Neko used to be on Wellness and we always ran into that problem. I used to record the lot numbers for the good cans and go hunting for them. Stores will usually let you trade them in for another lot number.

Hi Mariko,
I replied to your mention of Allerplex in Rusty's condo of 9/14. I think Allerplex smells just like beef bouillon cubes. (and if you read the label, you will see that it contains several beef extracts). I wondered whether Rusty would like it, so decided not to mix it into his usual food, but to mix the capsule into a teaspoon of Beechnut Stage 1 turkey baby food and a little water. He LOVES it! He loves that beefy smell! And even though he is allergic to beef as food, as extract it doesn't seem to bother him. I'm glad that you found a tuna option. There may be other options if Lucy tires of that one. (but I think that the smell that you hate is loved by cats!).

Ella & Rusty
