Re: 10/1 River PMPS 344 +2:342

Hi guys .. sorry to see river so high .. those pinks are never fun to deal with .. come on down river!

Re: 10/1 River PMPS 344 +2:342

poor river...come down!
Can you think of anything else that may somehow be irritating his system? If not a new food something that got on his fur that he's licking off? (I may be grasping here)

Re: 10/1 River PMPS 344 +2:342

Just a random observation...
Last time he was on this dose, he had the same sort of pattern. Higher AMPS, lower PMPS. until day 7 when you got a blue AMPS.

Does he act like he feels better after PMPS when his numbers are a lot lower? Does he eat better at one meal/numbers than the other?

Re: 10/1 River PMPS 344 +2:342

Carl, I'd say he definitely feels better after a PMPS when his numbers are a lot lower. He always has a good appetite, so that's not an issue. But his behaviour is markedly better when he's lower. For the week or so starting on Sept 9, he was back to his old self. And I agree with your observation, and don't think it's all that random. I'm thinking that the dose has to "settle in". What I worry about is that if his #s stay high enough for long enough, glucose will spill into his urine enough to cause a UTI, and then ketones.

Liz, thanks so much, and don't put down that megaphone yet!

Donaleen, he feels sleepy and slow and achey. How 'bout Ozy? This is how River behaved for the time that he was unregulated, before I came here. Life a bathmat.

Michele, I think he's just bouncing repeatedly, and spent a week not getting enough insulin, and is not feeling super-krappy.

Devon, thank you, and I saw your comment on someone else's condo about never knowing whether you should have given more insulin or less, so you just leave it to the experts ;-) I feel the same way. Fortunately, we have some pretty incredible experts of all sorts here.

Re: 10/1 River PMPS 344 +2:342

Ozy feels crappy when his numbers are high. He reminds of a person who is old and infirm and just circling the drain.

Re: 10/1 River PMPS 344 +2:342

Ayup, that's how River is too. And when I see that come back, I get a massive stomach ache. That was my last week. Sounds like you had something similar, and I'm sorry for that!

When he's well, he lifts his head and his eyes are full of life and mischief and wanting to tell me things, and demands. I love it the most when he wants.

Here's hoping for stability and wellness. My whole view on what's important in life has changed completely.

I hope River comes down for you soon. I know it's hard to see him feel bad in the higher numbers, but one thing to keep in mind is it is a good thing when he doesn't feel good in the higher numbers any more. It means his body is getting used to the lower numbers. Furball feels bad when she gets in those yucky pinks too. Sending hugs and prayers to you and River. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

I just love this sentence! beautifully put. I know exactly how you feel. I cant stand it when the little light in their eyes doesnt shine...

hugs to you

(((Lara))) It's amazing how much our happiness is tied into how our cat feels. I think we all can relate to how you are feeling. I've been at this over a year and a half, and I still celebrate a day without pink. Not today unfortunately. :YMSIGH:

From looking at your SS, it looks like River is getting into some nice numbers at night, and bouncing during the day. Again, a pattern I'm all too familiar with. And I'm awake more during the day for her lousy numbers and don't see as much when she's in better numbers. It that +2 test at night your "before bed" test? Just wondering if you could get a later test some nights when you see his +2 is lower than his PS. It helped me feel better when I knew that at least half the 24 hrs Neko is getting into good numbers and over time, they do bounce to lower numbers.

Thanks for this message, Wendy, as I'm getting disheartened. I like what you're suggesting. I'm going to go to sleep now as I'm simply wiped and too downhearted, but with the expectation that tomorrow will be another day. Thanks for reminding me of how Neko loves being low at night. I'd settle for that.

And thank you too, Michele - you are sweet!

Before you go to bed....

The number dropped better than sixty points between you last two tests. That's not too ugly, right?

Remember that video you posted a couple days ago? The then and now one? Watch that before calling it a night. And smile a little. It's alright......

((Lara)), I know too well how it feels when our kitty feels sparkle-less. I want River to feel better (and mischievous and wanting) so that, well, he feels better, but also so that you feel better, too.
