Greener yesterday

I initially typed "Calmer yesterday" but I don't think that's true. Zener swam in the lagoon in the morning, when I needed to leave. Then there was a very hungry young skunk in the backyard last night. It wasn't leavin' fer nuttin'! Jeesh. Tillie finally gave up wanting to go outside.

Zener is doing ok this morning. Appy is so-so. I tried massaging his tummy but I don't do as good a job as Annebean, who will be back from Phoenix this afternoon. He did some yard patrol and did his business outside. Both kitties go outside more when Anne is gone. They must feel sorry for me. :lol: :lol: Zener is now napping on the heating pad on the bed and Tillie is napping in her heated hut. There was some mouse action last night but no capture. Here is Tillie being impatient.

Thanks for all of the mice stories! They are funny now, some not so much at the time. :lol: :lol:

Thinking of ailing kitties and beans, Jamie and Jupiter, Jane's Cleo (bring those BGs down!), Dyana's J.D., Melissa's Tarragon, Dara's Bob. Paws crossed for Tootoo's OTJ trial. Almost there! Happy Caturday, LL!

Hi Liz. Nice AMPS this morning for Zener. He still has lots of time to make it to the Lagoon if he has a mind to. Bummer on the skunk..good thing the kitties were inside. Sending Zener some good appy vines.

Oh, I love skunks. :) I had one living under my porch once, and tried not to say anything, so my neighbors wouldn't know.

It sounds like a nice morning laying in heated beds for the kitties this morning. Hoping Zener will continue to have a nice blue day with maybe some greens thrown in. Eat your food, Zener.

The kitties were outside when the skunk appeared! :shock: :shock: At least it was cold enough that the door was closed and Pepe Le Pew didn't come inside like that mama skunk and 6 babies did a couple of years ago. :lol: :lol:

Liz,
Have you used the "push to test" button on the smoke detector to make sure it's functioning properly? Are they battery powered or hardwired?

I did test the smoke detector last night with the push button and it went off. This one is wired but it's about 25 years old. :roll: Uh, I'm going to order some new ones today. Right now.

Good idea on replacing it. That's probably longer than the manufacturer planned on it lasting.

Question - Is Tillie a "no-tail" kitty like Bob?

I ordered the smoke detectors (interconnectable) and a fire extinguisher, just for good measure. :-D :-D

You've reminded me to check under the stove for Theo's favorite toy mouse which is missing - no luck. Maybe it's under a bookshelf like Tillie is watching. It's amazing how small cats can get when they want to get at a rodent at the back of a shelf. Ask me how I know. :roll: That was a baby rat.

I was concerned when Clancy wasn't around when I got up today, and found him sitting/waiting in front of the stove/fridge.
I hope none of us, steps on ummm, mousie parts tomorrow morn.

Nice slide for Zener today. I hope the mouse isn't driving Tillie too crazy. I love the video of the cat washing the mouse. :lol: I hope Anne made it home safely.
 
Zener is on the way up, and he's eating like a champ tonight. No mouse catching (or trapping) action yet and we ordered three more humane live mouse traps tonight. LOVE all the funny mouse stories, pictures and the cat-rat love movie. Lara, don't you be giving Tillie Tooter any ideas, you hear? :lol: :lol: :lol:

MamaLizBean did her usual spectacular best with kitty care and thanks to you all for the welcome home wishes. I was only gone one dark but it felt like a lot longer! Professional conferences can be so deadly dull. Zener is giving the night duty bean the night off to recover. What a sweetheart. cat_pet_icon
