Pepper dropped to 56 @ +7.5 last night. I'm not sure if I missed a lower number. I set my alarm for +5.5 to check him and I managed to turn off the alarm without waking up. Next thing I knew, it was +7.5 and I fed him some gravy to stop him from dropping too low by AMPS. And he might have gone lower after +7.5 if I hadn't fed the gravy. I'm staying with 13 units for now.

Already bouncing.

Nice night for Pepper! I hear you on missing those alarms at night. Did you check your meter? I've heard some people say they have no memory of getting up and testing but the evidence is on the meter.

Why can't they go low during the day? :lol: :lol: :lol:

Dropped to 49 despite an enormous dinner @ +5.5. Fed gravy.

Are you taking the reduction this time? He might have gone down at +6.5 because of his enormous dinner. That dinner might have made his pancreas kick in.

And now I'm jealous - why can't my cat go down during the daytime? :lol: :lol:

How much HC did you give Pepper at +6.5? It does look like he came up pretty easily. If it had been hard to get him to come up, the answer would be yes to reduce.

No easy answer whether to reduce or not. I suspect if you don't now, he'll probably be more demanding soon enough. But it would be nice to keep in these wonderful numbers he's been seeing so his liver gets used to them.

At +6.5 he was 49 and I gave him about 2 tsp gravy. At about +7 he was 56 and I gave him some more, 15 minutes later he was 55 so I gave him the rest of the can because I had to leave for about an hour. At +8 when I got back he was 120.

I don't want to reduce too soon and hurt his numbers. He did get a lot of gravy this evening because he didn't seem to rise as fast as usual. I have to say, he's making me nervous.

Whenever I have to work to keep Neko up, I reduce. I can always go back up if it doesn't work. I also keep track of how much HC she gets. I know that 1 tsp will get her up about 20 points. If it doesn't, then that tells me something. Go with your gut on this one, if you are nervous, sneak him down a bit. Of course, his PMPS number could let you delay the decision until tomorrow.
