HAPPY CATURDAY!!!
I hope all is well with you and yours! Didn't realize it had been a month since our last condo, but the days are whizzing by here and I'm just struggling to keep my head above the water.
OT: Doug has been working a lot of hours lately, so I've been trying to cover a lot of what he usually handles. The head on Joseph's car went, so he's been driving my car and I'm back to being parked at home. Jessica bought a car and the pump went out, so she and Joseph have been juggling the car for her to get to school and both of them to get to work. Thankfully, he works close to home and she has a carpool buddy. (It took a month to get his part, but he fixed it yesterday and is happier than a pig in slop!!) Last Monday, Jessica had a minor accident (Nobody was hurt, thank God!! I was also thankful she was close enough I could walk to her, took a few minutes, but I could get there. AND - only a fender dent on the car!) but it set the tone for most of my week. We did get to go the state fair Tuesday, which was a lot of fun! My kids decided years ago that they'd rather go to Carowinds or Kings Dominion to ride rides and the state fair is for checking out exhibits, vendors and eating!
We haven't been to the fair in years and I knew this was likely the last year we'd get to go together, so we stayed for the fireworks, throwing Hershey's PMPS way late. But, life happens.
This last month has also seen a lot of time changes due to life or alarm mis-sets or once because I got distracted.
- When last I posted, Hershey was at .4u. After two visits in the 30's (31, 35), we decreased to .3u, which was a FAIL!
- Back to .4u, but after 7 cycles, still not good numbers. Maybe the pen is petering out?
- Changed pens, but I had used it a time or two by mistake, so not expecting the same life span.
- INC to .5u, still didn't look like enough, so back to .65u (10/16 AM). Thinking he likes shaving down, but INC needs to be by .25u each time.
- 6 cycles at .65u and two visits in the 30's (38, 27) and we DEC to .55u.
- (10/21) 3rd cycle on .55u gave us (38), so shaved a little more to .5u, especially since we'd be gone most of the next day.
- 10 total cycles at .5u (varying times) - glad to see greens! Two visits in the 40's (41, 43), and had to give full extra meal yesterday to guide him toward 50, so we're going to DEC to .4u tomorrow morning and hope he likes it, again.
Hershey is looking good and seems to be feeling good. The Miralax is doing its job, but I haven't been able to check for ketones. He's not usually so secretive, but the one time I caught him in the LB and lifted his tail, he got out of the box. Found him there a little while ago, but he wasn't doing anything I wanted to test!
He and Oreo chase/wrestle some, but they both spend a good deal of time laying around lately. But, the weather is changing and getting chillier, so I can't really blame them! Hershey takes spells of not wanting to eat. Don't know if it's that particular can of food - because his numbers are better so he's not so hungry - or if he's getting enough 7%/19% when he drops to make up for it.
I think I'm going to take advantage of the quiet around here and get a shower. Will check on as many kitties as I can. Thanks for visiting!!
