11/2 Rusty PMPS 92, +4 170

Good Saturday Morning, Everyone,

Rusty is higher this morning than any of the mornings he has been taking the ear drops (which contain a corticosteroid) (The vet said that it wouldn't raise his bg :? .) I am counting the hours until he can stop taking it. The vet told us 5 days (which would mean that tomorrow morning is his last dose), but the instructions on the box say 7 days. I should have clarified this, but I didn't. Now it's the weekend. I want to stick with the 5 days! Rusty seems OK, but is very low-key. Today I added FortiFlora (probiotic) to his breakfast; I was so focussed on the harm that the corticosteroid might cause that I only just now realized that an antibiotic is one of the other components of the med.! I am really losing it! Anyway, Rusty had a good night and didn't want to get up. Test and shot went well. Lung treat was enjoyed; schmooze was enjoyed. Then he went into his little bed by the radiator and an hour later Edward had to drag him out for his ear treatment. He has reached the point where he is resigned: he just sits there and looks miserable.

It's a dark, cooler morning and the temperature is supposed to fall all day and we are to have snow tonight. We are off to the farmers' market now. bbl,

Oh, Ella, I'm sorry Rusty isn't feeling 100%. I hope that he recovers quickly. Give him gentle scritches for me, and I hope you guys have a good day!

Poor Rusty. I hope the ear treatment does clear everything up so he doesn't need anything more. Enjoy the Farmer's Market.

Hi again,
Rusty brought his bgs down! Yay! He seems to like FortiFlora. I sprinkled a little on his breakfast and his lunch and he cleaned the plate. We had a combing after lunch and he is now in his little bed by the radiator. Raining again outside and getting much colder.
Farmers' market is winding down, but we are still able to get good field greens, garlic, squash, onions, etc.

Sending lots of healing snowflakes to our favorite rodent man. Good to see he is getting closer to the lagoon. It must be a mess there without the lagoon meister!

Hi Ella, yay on that +9.5! We are back to the blues. How niceis that. What a relief.

I so understand how you feel about the steroids. I hope the dose he's getting isn't too bad. I so remember what if did to Mannie's BG.

SNOW? Very nice. The mountains here are due to get their first significant snowfall here this weekdnd. We are just very wet.

Poor Rusty, sitting there resigned and miserable. Your mom and dad are just trying to help you feel better. YAY! for tomorrow morning being the last treatment!

Snow?! We've had the windows open today, but are expecting a cold front overnight. Still not cold enough to snow, though. We so rarely get snow here that the first talk of it and people make a run on the stores for milk and bread. Unfortunately, it often falls on our regular shopping days - can you say MAD HOUSE?! @-) Hope you're stocked up on hot chocolate and kitty treats!

The LagoonMeister is on duty!!!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: Maybe he's getting used to the steroid? Rusty had a good afternoon, mostly sleeping in his bed by the radiator (rain continues, will turn to snow later, they say). His appetite is good. Thank you all for your concern about my boy.

I hate reading about "resigned" - it makes me feel so sorry for him but I'm happy to read the ear meds are almost done. Maybe they are starting to work so that's why :mrgreen: showed up today. Enjoy your snow!
