Yesterday was a day more more yellow and pink, also vetty visit day.

I can hardly wait to get the lab results back, hopefully later tomorrow. Something is wrong. It's either Neko or the insulin. Last night was not a fur shot. This AMPS is not a Neko on Lev number. There was a partial fur shot two nights ago, otherwise I'd be increasing today. Instead, today I tried a wild experiment of going back to the old cartridge. It'll probably not make any difference but at least will eliminate one variable.

Neko seems fine in spite of it all. She had a quick tour of the deck for some sniffs after first breakfast. She's currently grooming herself on a chair near me after finishing off +1 breffs. No change in appetite at least. I tried doing a btb - no dice, I'm too worried about Neko.

Today is Remembrance Day in Canada, when we honour our veterans on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Normally I could go over to the island to be with my parents and the ceremony they have over there. DF is one of the very few WW2 veterans still living over there. But DM has a very sore throat and told us not to come over. So instead, we remember at home.

Re: 11/11 Neko AMPS 383 :(

Well blech. We have paws crossed Neko's numbers are back where they belong and soon. Waiting for lab results is just too darn stressful, especially when we feel something is not quite right. nailbite_smile

I love the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. We do the 11th day of the 11th month in the US but I had not heard of the 11th hour before. Was your DF in Europe? There are so few veterans left from WWII. My dad died in 2004 at age 83. He landed in Normandy on Omaha Beach on D-Day in the second wave. He was a farm boy from Kansas and after that moment his life was never the same. Today we remember all the men and women who serve and served.

Re: 11/11 Neko AMPS 383 :(

@Anne - nailbite_smile is right! I just want to fix it! Whatever "it" is. DF was in the Navy, doing transatlantic convoy protection duty. He was on a ship that was torpedoed, but managed to make it back to dock. He didn't talk much about times in the war until recently. It did change a lot of them. DF just got his medals out a few years ago and I helped him get them sewn properly onto the bars for display so now he proudly wears them on Nov 11th. He's 90 now, not sure he'll make it to the ceremony today if he has to go on his own. He keeps saying each year that is the last ceremony he'll attend. I like the ceremony because it's very "small town", but half the island attend. My DGPa was in WW1, my great uncle was killed at Vimy Ridge and is named on the cenotaph there. Today we remember.

Re: 11/11 Neko AMPS 383 :(

I hope it is just the pen. We had that back in August and got a new RX, the turn around was amazing.

I hope you father gets to go to the ceremony. It sounds like a very special one for him. I've been watching BBC America and noticed all the poppys on the lapels. I remember when we still did that here. It's a good reminder.

Re: 11/11 Neko AMPS 383 +6 335 :(

Hi Wendy. Thanks for the info today :-D Awesome family history and that is why we remember and give thanks. I sure hope your dad was able to get to his ceremony, and your mom feels better soon.
Fingers and paws crossed over here that you get good vetty results. Please come down Neko. Your mamabean is very worried about you little girl.
I hope you can get some rest tonight

Re: 11/11 Neko AMPS 383 +6 335 :(

Hope you get a good vetty report tomorrow. Come on, Neko, show your Mama it was just the insulin.

Re: 11/11 Neko AMPS 383 +6 335 :(

I hope you get the test results back soon so you can see what's going on with Neko and get her back to good numbers. I hope your DF made it to the ceremony and your DM feels better soon.

Re: 11/11 Neko AMPS 383 +6 335 +9.5 231

Wendy -

I hope you get Neko's numbers figured out soon!

I'd never heard of the 11th hour part, either. Nice that y'all have such a celebration. There aren't many in our area, but I did learn today they have one right down the road that I'd never heard about. Maybe next year we can go. What a military heritage! We have much to thank our service people for.

Hope your mom feels better soon -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Re: 11/11 Neko AMPS 383 +6 335 +9.5 231

+9.5 231
So glad to see that yellow today. Looks like there's still some oomph in the old juice. Depending on the PMPS number, might keep using it. Neko's looking more relaxed now.

OT: I got a call from DF - he did make it to the service. :-D :-D And he took my 93 year old aunt. If I'd gone I would have taken chairs for them to sit on so they probably stood the whole time. DH and I were listening to the harbour air traffic control manage three sets of old Harvard war planes (called Texans in the US) that were touring around the various cenotaphs in the area. We saw a group of 7 and of 4. Too cool to listen in on air traffic control. The war planes have rotary engines - love that sound.

@Ann - I remember when you got the new pen. This is just cartridge 2 of 5, I hope the other 3 aren't pooped out too. DF did get to the service. Part of the ceremony is everyone leaving their poppies on the cenotaph afterwards. And then the legion guys sell everyone another one.

@Kim - She does seem to be coming down quite a bit - all paws crossed here too. I won't hear vetty results until tomorrow evening due to the holiday. I'd actual prefer not to get rest tonight - because that would mean Neko's numbers are coming down.

@Nancy - I hate the waiting for results. Still not sure if it was the insulin.

@Carla - I'll probably hear after 8PM tomorrow on the results. Vetty is booked until then so I'll hear when she finishes for the day. DF did make it to the ceremony. Weather cooperated with clear and reasonably warm.

@Elizabeth - Power of positive thinking, I hope all the well wishers here make for good lab results.

@Libby - The usual emotional roller coaster on the numbers, now I'm hopeful. I just found out today that the second largest remembrance parade in Canada is 15 minutes away from here. It is cool to go watch. They honour all from WWII to current veterans and even some members from the resistance in Europe. It's a good history lesson for the kids too.

Hi Wendy - sorry for the higher numbers yesterday. I hope it was just an off day. and that you get the lab results back soon.

i hope too that your DF was able to go to the ceremony, for the vets. It was nice to see the poppy posted here. We used to see them all the time here too, not so much any more. The vets were always on the city street corners handing them out. It's a nice remembrance I think.
