Yesterday's condo

Well isn't this interesting? If I had actually been awake this morning, I might not have shot China today since I have LOTS to do and she can't come with me for most of it so I guess I'll just leave food out and hope for the best. China's a good kitty though, so I know she'll be fine :mrgreen:

Seems like I need a moving van to get out of this hotel room...Where did all this stuff come from anyway??? :lol:

Working on getting stuff out, going to visit Mom, back to the hotel to keep packing up and then last thing, bag the cat and head home! Go to the Assisted Living center, get mom some clothes and head back over here, but if her numbers are still low by then, I'll leave plenty of food down

Hope the civvies aren't too hard on me!!

I hope China surfs safely for you today. It looks like the insulin is still good. I hope your Mom is feeling better today. I'm sure she'll be glad to have some of her own clothes.

Boy you have been busy since last I checked in,will have to call you a hoarder if it does not all fit lol, Poor China she is so abused having to fend for herself mol

Got Mom into the SNU, got all my stuff out of the hotel, and got home WITH China!! I knew that feeding her was probably going to cause problems with carsickness and it did, so with being bagged, driven, puking and finally home again, I wasn't at all surprised by the 210 at +7

Went over to the Assisted Living Center and cleaned out her room so we don't have to keep paying for it even though she's not there. I figure after several days to 1 week at the hospital SNU, she'll hopefully be stronger and more ready to go to the skilled care side of the nursing home for awhile...and then hopefully back to Assisted Living. I know the last time she went to the Nursing home, once they'd shown her where stuff was, she was pretty much left to her own devices on getting there, like the dining room. They gave her a wheelchair but after the first couple of days, she had to get herself down to the dining room and to any activities she wanted to go to...There's no way she could have done that this time and there was no way I was going to chance it. I THINK they would have been a little more attentive considering the circumstances, but she's definitely much better off where she is for now. I did talk to the lady that handles admissions at the nursing home to bring her up to speed on why we put her into the hospital SNU instead, and she understood our decision. (and although I kind of softened it some, I did get across to her that I was disappointed the last time and that had to figure into our decision) Packed a suitcase with several changes of clothing, got her walker, and some toiletries and took them back to the hospital, so she's all set for now. I'm going to try to have my son go visit tomorrow, and I'll go the next and we'll just take turns instead of both of us being over there every day. My brother will pop in when he feels like it, but he's pretty much useless despite his "We'll do this" and "We'll take care of that" speeches. WE don't do anything....I do!

The civvies are all snubbing me (of course) and we had a little spat between China and the big man of the house (who had taken over top cat duties before China was diagnosed) but as she's gained her weight back as well as her energy, she'd pretty much taken back her rightful place at the top of the cat tree....He thought maybe he'd test it just in case she'd changed her mind while she was gone :lol:

We'll just see how she does now that she's back home. Hopefully she'll keep getting those pretty green numbers like she did while she was away. :mrgreen:

Hi Chris. Good to see the insulin survived and is doing its job. That China is one amazing kitty cat_pet_icon I'm glad you are both back in your own turf. It is an added stress to be away from home, and you my friend, do not need added stress. I continue to have you all in my thoughts and prayers. You are handling things like a champ. You should be so proud of the strength you possess! Funny about the civvies snubbing you and the wee turf war. Typical :lol: Have a good night Chris and get the sleep you so desperately deserve

Well we're back home, things are back to normal here, and China's numbers are climbing

Will hang on and see where she's at in the morning. It's been a long day for us both, so at least I don't have to worry about getting up all night to catch a low!!

Tomorrow will be 1 week post bypass surgery...it still scares me to think what would have happened if Mom had really pushed to wait for the surgery even one more day

Boy, what a day you've had! first, I'm glad your Mom is all settled in, in a place where you know she'll be safe & well cared for. Congratulations on getting all your stuff (& your Mom's) moved, too! And - congratulations on getting China & you home in one piece, & still having all your eyes, fingers & toes after reintroducing China to the civvies! I'm glad your pen's still working, congratulations on the :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: Looks like China may give you the night off for some serious catch-up sleep?

I really admire your dedication to your family. The way you take care of your Mom and China is amazing. I'm sure they're very grateful to have you in their lives.
