Good morning, LL! ☼☼☼
Sending vines to all in need today♥
Thanks for the visits last night, Deborah, Wendy, and Marje!

Ripley is eating this morning :-D .
Her appy isn't 100%, but it's better than it was over the weekend.
She also seems a bit perkier ~ I even found her sitting in her testing spot, waiting patiently for her t/f/s this morning; this is something I haven't seen in a couple of days.

Unfortunately, she peed just outside her LB ~ a definite sign that something is wrong. It's probably either a UTI or her kidney infection is back (she wasn't officially dx'd in Oct., but it seemed probable). She normally does not show symptoms with a UTI, but is showing the same symptoms she did back in Oct.: excessive drinking, lethargy, poor/no appy, and now peeing outside the box. We'll hopefully get some tests run today...

Re: 12/2 Ripley AMPS 143

Morning Josie ~O) ~O) ~O)

Numbers are great, bummer though on the issues over the weekend. It's good though that he is eating today. I hope all is well with Ripley. I also know you know her very well, and if the symptoms are there, then wise to get the tests done today. I will hope for a simple fix, should there me something wrong: UTI, possible p'titis flare? Be well Ripley!

Enjoy your day today Josie. I hope all goes well.

Re: 12/2 Ripley AMPS 143

I'm so glad Ripley seems perkier, and am very relieved you're able to get her in today. Sending tons of good vetty and feel better vines your way!!

Re: 12/2 Ripley AMPS 143

Hi Josie. Nice AMPS for Ripley this morning. So sorry she isn't feeling very well. We're sending her lots of get well vines.

Have a great day Josie.

Re: 12/2 Ripley AMPS 143

So sorry there is something going on with Miss Rippers
Hopefully you will get some answers today and get her back on the road to recovery ;-)
Sending tons of vines for a good vetty visit and for Ripley to start feeling better real soon ♥
Have a good day Josie.

Re: 12/2 Ripley AMPS 143

I'm glad Ripley is eating better this morning. I hope you can get her in to the vet today and find out what is going on and it is something easily treated.

Re: 12/2 Ripley AMPS 143, +5 136, back from vet

Thanks SO MUCh for all of the visits and vines today :-D

Ripley just visited her vet.
She is starting a course of antibiotics today (Zeniquin), for 10 days; if she gets better, we'll continue the ABs for another 3 weeks or so.
She has responded very well to this AB before, with a UTI earlier this year. (It was used after a course of Clavamox, which is what she used with the most recent infection in Oct. It's possible that (again) the Clavamox helped, but didn't get rid of the infection completely. Zeniquin is a part of the Baytril family, which is effective when dealing with UTIs and/or kidney infections.
Since she is showing the classic signs of an infection, we're holding off on tests (if she worsens over the next few days, I'll bring her back for tests); but the vet wants to minimize testing on her poor old body.
If all goes well (and I'm sure it will!) she will be due for a full panel after Christmas (incl. thyroid check and blood-pressure).

She did great at the vet. Unhappy, but she's so cooperative. And she still tried to 'hide' by stuffing her face into my armpit. Sweet, silly kitty.

Before the vet visit, she finished her breakfast. CPC! Yay!
(And unfortunately peed outside the lb ~ 2nd time today.)

Also, she has gained half a pound since Oct. ~ up to 12 lbs. now.
Dr. K said this is great ~ we'd be worried if she was losing weight.
And her temp is normal.

You'll feel better soon, little girl.♥

Now it's my turn to be 'seen' ~ having some annoying dental issues.
Good thing this is all happening now, instead of last week when I had the time off work.
And I'm ignoring the 'check engine' light that keeps flashing at me...

Re: 12/2 Ripley AMPS 143, +5 136, back from vet

I'm so glad you got her in and started on meds. Aside from the obvious UTI symptoms, with the weight gain, CPC, and normal temp, it basically sounds like a good visit. Hopefully the meds will kick in very quickly and Ripley will be sparkling again in no time!

Re: 12/2 Ripley AMPS 143, +5 136, back from vet

I'm glad the vetty visit went well and you have an AB to give Ripley. I hope it helps her feel better quickly.

Re: 12/2 Ripley AMPS 143, +5 136, back from vet

Good report from the vet.
At least you know what is going on (hopefully) and the AB's will get her feeling better real soon :-D
Enjoy your night and cuddles from Miss Rippers ♥

Re: 12/2 Ripley AMPS 143, +5 136, back from vet

Hi Josie,

Happy that Ripley had a pretty good vetty report. Hoping that the AB fixes the rest!

Sending vines for Ripley's healing and your teefies too!

Re: 12/2 Ripley AMPS 143, +5 136, back from vet

Hi Josie, I am glad that Ripley is eating better. We will pray that the infection clears up quickly.

Thanks for the visits this afternoon :-D :-D :-D

Ripley's appy is ok ~ again not 100%, but she's snacking.
She had a mellow afternoon ~ basked in the backyard (the temps are going to drop dramatically after today, so this may have been her last basking day for a while) and she is generally acting ok. Not super perky, but not super sick.
I gave her the first AB dose, so she'll hopefully be on the mend asap.

Thanks again for all of the positive thoughts today. It feels like one big virtual hug (and I'm sure Ripples feels it as well).
:YMHUG:

Piling on more healing and appy vines for Miss Ripples. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Hope she gets that sparkle back soon. Maybe she's lamenting the season's end of backyard basking.

Glad the little miss got a decent vetty report. We have fingers and paws crossed that the AB do their trick and she gets back to her 100% self. Hope it hasn't dampened her chirps and squinty eyes love :-D
Have a good night Josie! Vines headed to Ripley to get better soon!

Hi Josie,
We are glad that you got Ripley to the vet and on an antibiotic. Sending vines that the A/B will do it's work and that Sweet Ripley will be feeling really good very soon. It's great that she's eating.

The KTSS will be along later with a spa treatment to get rid of vetty smell.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. Have you checked your gas cap? Sometimes you will get a Check Engine light if the cap isn't on tightly.
