Why, why, oh why does she have to save a cycle like this for Monday morning, after I've been inside with her for three days of bouncing to black? Aaaaaaaaah.

Papaya was really trying to make this a surprise - she was restless since about 3:30 so I was playing ignore-the-cat as long as I could. She went over to where her food is sometimes left out on the shelf by the bed, and finding no food there at the moment, had a long slurpy drink of water instead. Combined with the early restlessness I was definitely expecting more like 572 on the meter than the 72 I got! She was awake again a bit before +2, which should have been a lot higher from food spike so I had a feeling this was going to be an on-a-mission cycle and gave her some 14% at +2. Now the +4 tells me that I'm going to have to phone my boss, grrrrr. As nice as it is to see those greens, this is really the worst possible time!

How do they always know. Hoot went down to the 40's each time I had to go out
Really, you couldn't have done it all the other days I was home??? Silly cats  ;-)
So sorry you have to call your boss
And come on back up Papaya, Mama has a living to earn ;-) ;-)
Hope your day gets better Amy ;-)

Papaya is really keeping you on your toes. I don't know why they can't have numbers like this when we're off work.

Re: 12/9 Papaya AMPS=72 +2=88 +4=41 +5=77 +6=51 +7=117

Hi Pam and Carla! I guess I should just be happy to see numbers so good, even if they are at a bad time! I stayed home until I got the +7 which was clearly rising, then dashed off to work. I had to keep checking my numbers . . . seemed crazy that I can stay until I get a +7 and still only miss two and a half hours or so of work! That's the benefit of shooting at the unearthly hour of the AM that I do!

Wow! Papaya really has got a perfect cat's sense of timing.  Nice cycle today.  Hope you come home to a reasonable number tonight.

Re: 12/9 Papaya AMPS=72 PMPS=467

Thanks, Wendy! I was pretty much expecting a "HI" so 467 is a little better

Papaya ate, got her shot, used the litter, then found a nice wool afghan to PUKE on. She doesn't seem out of sorts at all, I think just a bit too much action in the litterbox right after eating. I'll let her stomach settle a bit before refeeding her . . . BG is pretty high anyways so getting food in half an hour after the shot won't make a big difference.

Re: 12/9 Papaya AMPS=72 PMPS=467

I have absolutely no idea what kind of crazy schedule you must have to be able to be home for the +7 and only miss a couple hours of work!  Do you ever sleep!?
Papaya, your poor wee kitty knees are going to get so sore if you don't cool down the dramatic bouncing. She sure had a nice cycle earlier Amy. And Yes...why indeed!, to the waiting to pull those numbers when we have to work. Sheesh kittehs!
Hope you're staying warm and snuggly tonight Amy

Hi Amy,

Papaya has been through all the colors of our rainbow today! And I agree with Kim, when do you sleep?
If only our kitties cooperated and did their wonky low numbers when we have days off. I think they hear our schedule and decide when to drop~

Have a great night!

Re: 12/9 Papaya AMPS=72 PMPS=467

Hi Kim and Jane! Yup, I get up for AMPS at 4:15 then go back to bed until 7:30, so I can get as late as a +4 before I leave for work. With the way Papaya dives, I just wouldn't feel comfortable leaving her without a pretty good idea of where the cycle is going! I work from 9 to 4 so this works just right to let me shoot again as soon as I get home. I don't have a problem falling asleep again after the AMPS but sometimes I do wake up to my alarm at 7:30 and have no idea whether I've already been up or not - which is why it's good I keep track of the BG, shots and such in a notebook that I keep with the testing kit! Wish I knew I could have kept going back to bed for a while this morning but I was still holding on to the hope that I would get to work earlier than I did - if I'd known I'd be home until 11:30 I would have enjoyed a series of naps between hourly tests!
