LBG is super excited today because the contractors were only here 20 minutes to waterproof the shower floor AND the Christmas tree is going up!!!! She and Tobey are beside themselves with joy and fun.....of course, trying to catch her to test her has been amusing as she gets under the tree and runs around in circles :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: And we haven't even started putting up all the house decorations!! Once we get the tree up, we will put Gussie's urn under it because Christmas was his favorite time of year and we could always find him under the tree.

Still patiently waiting on the dose to settle in and the bounce to clear. It will......time is all it takes.

Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of Dad passing and Mom got her video. She didn't have the reaction that the rest of the family did which was a lot of tears. She was pretty stoic about it but I found it to be a very hard day. I'm kinda glad I had to work and had a long day. I didn't get to talk to her until last night after dinner and she seemed to weather the day ok. She did say she loved it and it meant a lot to her. I think by the time my sister got it over to her, she was tired; she will have more time today to watch it and listen to the music.

We have a busy day getting the Christmas stuff up but I rested well last night and will be on tonight. Have a great day.

I can just see Gracie and Tobey playing under the tree. It's a sweet picture!

my heart stopped about Gus. I'm so very sorry... He will be a proud "Keeper of Christmas" from his favorite spot under the tree and in your hearts.
I'm sure your mom loved your video. It sounds like a very special, loving present to memorialize a wonderful man.

How cute that Gracie was running circles under the Christmas tree. I think that's perfect to put Gus' urn under the Christmas tree. I'm glad your mom appreciated the video

Yay, only 20 minutes! Poor Gracie, I don't like people in my house either. Let's see some better numbers, your bean is trying her best to be patient. The video sounds wonderful. Thank you for your good wishes for us. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Cyber hugs are probably safer than real hugs. :roll: :lol: :lol:

Hi Marje,
I'm sure that your mom will love the video when she gets a chance to view it by herself and can re-live those joyous times. I can understand how difficult it would be to unwrap such a treasure and play it during a family get-together. So many emotions. So many memories.

It is wonderful that Gussie will be in his usual place under the tree.

Enjoy your holiday preparations. Gracie and Tobey are celebrating the holidays already!

I LOVE the vision of Gus the Gentleman Cat as the keeper of the Christmas traditions. Now I'm seeing a little bit of a Dickens style Gussie in coat and hat, carrying the other kitters on his shoulders saying "God bless us one and all". Bravo to you for getting your decorations up, it can be so hard to celebrate this time of year when carrying sadness and loss.

What a wonderful gift for your mom. This is our 9th Christmas since the death of my parents, and it still is a sad time.

Hi Marje. I bet Gracie was glad the contractors were there only 20 minutes. She needed them gone so mom could get started with the Christmas decorations and she can play with them.

I'm sure your mom will watch the video you made when she is alone and enjoy it very much.

Hi Marje!
Your Mom sounds like 'the glue that holds it together' for the family. My Gran was like that. I sometimes thought she was a bit 'detached' until I happened by her room in the middle of the night and heard her telling my Gramps, who was a couple years passed, about the day. Made me cry that she was so strong.

Sounds like the kitties are Christmas Kittens I love your idea of letting Gus hang out under the tree (although I have a feeling he will be there whether or not the urn is ;-) ) And I'm still laughing at Carl's post yesterday! :lol:

Hope Gracie settles in soon. So sweet to hear your kids are enjoying the Christmas decorations. We just put our ornaments on today, but Oreo has already gotten in trouble...s-e-v-e-r-a-l times. :roll:

What a sweet gift for your mom. January 6th will be 10 years since my dad died. I remember one year I couldn't figure out what to get the man who didn't need anything. I went through his mom and sister's old photos (some he thought had gone missing even) and made him a CD. He really enjoyed it. The older I get, the more precious those kinds of gifts are to me. I'm sure she'll enjoy it over and over.

Gracie - yoo hoo, come on down. Paws crossed she tires of these yellows soon. Before Neko was on Lev, Gracie's numbers were a mystery to me, but now I too see similarities. If only Gracie could teach Neko that lows are OK in the daytime too. :roll:

You guys are way ahead of us on the Christmas decorations, maybe this weekend. It's great to hear that your kittens are so excited to have the tree up. You'll get some precious photos with them all under the tree. :YMHUG:
