Happy Saturday,

Yesterday's condo

12/13 dosecrease AMPS=178; +2=203; +8=178
12/13 PMPS=187; +2=139; +5.75=166

12/14 AMPS=155; +2.75=110; +7=144; +10.5=115
12/14 PMPS=103; +1=117; +2=135; +6=169

Late post today.
I'm not sure how Lucy is feeling right now.
She seems to go up and down in a day.
She vomited yellow mucus again early morning, but this morning, I woke up, so I was able to give her Pepcid an hour before breakfast.
She had diarrhea early morning too.
But by the breakfast time, she was feeling better and she ate the 1st breakfast well by finger-feeding.
Then she came back to bed with me and purred next to me, so she must have been feeling good at that time.
She ate the 2nd breakfast well by finger-feeding.
But then by the 3rd breakfast, her appy was poor and didn't want to eat, but she eventually finished.

I was going to try bedtime Pepcid last night like Amy suggested, but she didn't want her bedtime mini-meal last night, and wasn't feeling good.
I was so incredibly tired too, and didn't have the energy to force one of her least favorite pills to her.
Maybe tonight, I will try again.

I don't like how Lucy's been doing these days....
One good thing is that her numbers seem better at this dose, just a little.

I've had this terrible muscle pain in my left shoulder/arm, which I had been trying to ignore the past 3 weeks.
Last night it finally screamed and I couldn't sit at my computer desk and bring my arms up to the keyboard without feeling nauseated with pain.
So I finally went to the acupuncture/acupressure today.
I went to the place I had never been before because I had to do something about it today.
I was lucky enough to find a clinic that opens Saturday and could see me today, and even more luckily, I liked this place.
It's still painful, but I feel my problematic muscle thoroughly tenderized.
He said I should rest my muscles today - "don't carry anything heavy and keep your arms/shoulders down", so that's my excuse for being lazy today.

Sending vines to all in need.

When I give J.D. some Pepcid, I always wrap it in a Pill Pocket as I do most of his meds. It makes it so much easier to get that pill down his throat when it has pill pocket around it.

I hope you are resting your arm and feel better soon. And of coarse, I hope Lucy is feeling better too.

Hi Mariko,

Sending sweet Lucy tummy vines and healing vines for you too, Mariko. Hope the treatment gives you some relief.
Dyana's comment was interesting to me. I had never thought about giving a pill in a bit of pill pocket. I always just thought of them eating the pill pocket themselves! Something to remember.

Hope you, Lucy and Ginger have a relaxing night~

I hope Lucy is feeling better and your shoulder/arm is too. I've used a bit of a pill pocket too to give pills.

Re: 12/14 Lucy AMPS=155;+2.75=110;+7=144

I also love the pill pockets! I just rip a bit off and wrap the kitty pills in it...voila! I have also seen the tip that if they like them, you can break the pill into a few pieces and give in separate treats (they say it is less likely they will bite into the pill that way, and so far they're right!)

Sorry your shoulder is bothering you  I've never been to acupuncture/acupressure...I've thought to try it before, but never did. And taking care of yourself is not lazy, silly girl! It's smart and important. :-D

Sending vines for our Lucy's tummy and healing vines to you too Mariko!

Pill Pockets work great with Trix, too. With my GA civvie, Mario, PPs worked most of the time, but if he wasn't feeling great or was being fussy, I found that if I rolled it in FortiFlora, that helped entice him.

I hope both Lucy and your shoulder are feeling better tonight!

Re: 12/14 Lucy PMPS=103;+1=117

Hi guys,
I hope Lucy is doing better tonight. I know that it is worrisome when they don't want to eat. Good luck with the pill pockets. They seem to work well.

Mariko, I'm sorry that your arm is bothering you and hope that the acupuncture will help. Have you tried Arnica gel on it? Wendy told me about it and it really helps muscle things.

Sending vines for Lucy and for you,

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 12/14 Lucy PMPS=103;+1=117

Thank you very much for checking in on Lucy, Dyana, Jane, Carla, Kim, Amy and Ella.

Lucy is being indecisive whether she feels OK or not this evening.
She was feeling pretty good right before the dinner time, and even a bit excited about dinner.
But half way through the 1st dinner, she decided she didn't feel so good any more.
So I offered her Wellness Turkey & Salmon, and she ate it fine.
For her 2nd dinner, I mixed Wellness T and Wellness T&S in 50/50 ratio, and she finished that fine too.
I don't think she's in pain because her posture is relaxed.
I am re-starting slippery elm bark powder from tonight, hoping it'll help with her tummy issues.

A friend of mine was supposed to come over to hang out tonight (some pickup dinner and movie on TV), but I cancelled it.
I'm a terrible company when I'm worried about Lucy or Ginger.
Plus, Lucy seems to be finally responding to the dosecrease this time, so I wanted to be able to pay good attention to her tonight.

I am so relieved that my left shoulder and arm are feeling much better already tonight.
I'm not feeling as much pain as I type this post.

Re: 12/14 Lucy PMPS=103;+1=117

I forgot to mention.....

Lucy doesn't like any flavor of pillpokets, so while they make it easier for me to hold onto the pill and throw it into Lucy's mouth, it is just as stressful for Lucy.
I'd still have to force it onto her.
She doesn't like fortiflora, either.
It makes her want to eat her food even less whenever I use it to fix her diarrhea.
My secret weapon is tuna sashimi.
I have small cubes of tuna sashime in my freezer for pilling purpose, but I did not have it thawed last night.
Tuna sashimi is the only thing she willingly eats even though she knows I hide stuff in it, but not particularly convenient for me to have ready at all time.
I am hoping that slippery elm bark powder will work well for all diarrhea, tummy acid, mild nausea......
According to Tanya's CKD web, it could work well for all these conditions.

Re: 12/14 Lucy PMPS=103;+1=117;+2=135

Lucy's numbers are looking much better on this dose. :-D I hope she feels better and you have some good cuddles with her tonight.

Good to hear your shoulder is better - take care of yourself too this weekend.

I've used pieces of pill pocket even for my cats that don't like the pill pockets. Even though I have to put it in their mouth and make them swallow, it helps keep them from tasting the pill. The taste of the pill pocket is better than the taste of the pill.
