Friday

Friday we had a few really unfortunate things happen so I was up all night, gave Frank his shot at 5am and went to bed. I slept all day while Brian tested Saturday. I gave him his regular dose at his regular time because I start school tomorrow. I just don't have the wiggle room to dial back slowly. So far, so good. His numers were a little eratic yesterday, but he had watery diarrhea the night before so that may have come into play. Today he has surfed in the yellows. He is pretty dehydrated from having the trots so we are going to give him 200cc of fluids tonight, per the vet's suggestion to see if that helps him work the insulin better. His stools were more solid yesterday. No poo yet today. He seems to be feeling well, otherwise. Here is a recap of Saturday:

F L A T yellow cat today. Sometimes a flat yellow cycle means an exciting one to follow. :?

I hope he gives you a nice solid poo soon.

Re: 1/12 Frank PMPS 227

Well, my other cat had a pancreatitis flare-up which triggered a URI, which I think Frank has been fighting off. He has has a little eye discharge, but not much more. His temp was fine Friday night at the vet. Frank loves going to the vet. He is like a dog. He wants to be friends with everyone. Anyway, I am thinking that maybe since that one episode of diarrhea didn't have any smell, and his poo is rather rank, we missed other episodes he may have had. I mean, it looked exactly like he peed out of his butt, so there was no evidence that he was having that problem. He had not had a good poo in a while though, so I thought he might be constipated. If I had not been looking to see if he was straining, I may have missed it. So, yeah...beyond all of my rambling, I guess the thought I was trying to communicate is that now that he has some antiiotics in him and is starting to come around from that URI, I expect to see some changes without messing with his dose...which would be fantastic. I will say, for having FIV, he sure does fight off these things better than some of my cats that have been housecats forever. I had heard before that is often true with ferals...that their immune systems can take more. With all of the strikes against him (FIV, possible CRF, age, teeth so bad you can wiggle them) he sure could use some advantages!
