A bit high for me today, but I'm guessing Cobb is still recovering from my mistake.

His appetite is excellent, especially as I ease down on how much he's actually eating. We're at 2 cans right now versus the original 3 cans. He's looking a little trimmer. He is much more sociable. He found a new spot to nap on the kitchen table. (It does happen to be in the sun. )

Hope everyone has a good Fursday!

Great to hear that Cobb is eating less and looking better! Of course he's going to choose to lay in a sunbeam!! Cat's love sunbeams!

I doubt if the furshot is still a factor, but anything is possible I suppose, but Cobb is going into the 150's during his PM cycle, so these numbers could easily be a "b-word"

Just a suggestion here Suzanne...instead of using another line to say when/what you're feeding, maybe you could put a * in the cells when you feed, and over in the remarks put something like "1/4can@+4"....I think we all understand you're feeding Low carb....and if you were to feed a medium or high carb food, you could put "2tspHC@+5" (or whatever)

I only suggest this because as the spreadsheets get longer and longer, it takes less scrolling if you use less lines. It also keeps the colors a little closer together so it makes it a little easier to see the "patterns"

Again, this is just a suggestion. If you're comfortable doing it the way you are, and it makes sense to you, that's the most important thing!

Now Mr. Cobb!! You stop this nonsense right now!! You've seen everything there is to see on that floor and it's time to come down to the pretty sunbeam colors (you like sunbeams!) Blue is also a very pretty color for you! Makes you look 10 years younger

Thanks Chris! I've been trying to figure out the best way to do the SS and food. I agree, I can't see the colors and patterns either. I'll work on making those changes when Matty wakes up from his nap. ;-)

Re: 1/16 Cobb AMPS 325 +3 337

Well if you want to, feel free to take a look at China's spreadsheet.

I put how much, what, and when she's fed over in the remarks, as well as anything else I feel needs to be noted for that day

Awwww...nice sleepy baby bean!! They're so sweet when they're sleeping!!

Re: 1/16 Cobb AMPS 325 +3 337

Looks like Cobb got off on the wrong floor . . .(must have accidentally pressed the up button) . . . .

Regarding documenting on the ss, It's a matter of personal preference, as long as the data is there somewhere.

I personally like to see what numbers got fed what, all in the same place. For me it made it easier to quickly size things up and reduced the risk of something getting lost in the remarks.

It was especially valuable when BK started his wild and crazy slide down... ;-)

When we came to FDMB, we did not use the ss. It was not long before use of the ss was in it's infancy and we all got on board with it. However initially there was not the wonderful template available today. That''s why BKs ss is kind of different.

Whatever you decide regarding documenting feeding, I do recommend you 'Freeze' the ss at column A and row 1. That makes it easy to quickly determine the 'plus' hours without having to scroll all the way up.

As Sandy said, it's a matter of personal preference.

Personally, yes, I like it better now, but would still suggest in the "remarks" you add what you fed and when, so if you fed 1/2 can of Friskies at AMPS, you could say (for example) 1/2canFriskies@AMPS, 1/2canFF@+5, etc........(FF being Fancy Feast)

That way the * in the cell shows you fed, and in the remarks, we could look to see what you fed at that time

Is Ck "Chicken snack"?

Ok. Chicken is boiled chicken snack, yes.

me, too. i agree with sandy. in fact, i've continued to use the same/similar method on alex's ss over all these years.

i love what you've done with cobb's ss! i'm a huge fan of using asterisks to note the number of portions fed as well as when kitty was fed in relation to the numbers. while knowing the brand and flavor may be nice info to have for the caregiver, generally speaking, it doesn't mean a whole lot to those interpreting spreadsheets. as sandy mentioned, knowing when kitty was fed is important to understanding the numbers and sticking the info in the remarks section is overlooked too often. i know my eyes begin to gloss over when i read those kind of comments in the remarks section. to be honest, "what" is fed is rarely important to those helping unless kitty is a microdose kitty whose insulin requirements are less than 0.1u, but more than "none".

love seeing what's happening on cobb's ss! nice work by you and those helping!

Re: 1/16 Cobb AMPS 325 +3 337 +6.5 347

No matter what you do with your spreadsheet, it sure is nice to not be seeing nothing but black, red and pink!!

Cobb is now more of a "rainbow" kitty :-D

I like the seeing the column headers every 7 days. . .nice
Makes it easy to quickly size up the last 2 weeks . . .

I agree. I don't have to guess or count days since he's hit green. I can tell it's the end of last week.

A better number to end the day on. Hopefully we'll get back to those lower blues and higher greens soon!

Re: 1/16 Cobb AMPS 325 +3 337 +6.5 347 PMPS 260

I'm noticing a disturbing trend on Cobb's SS. He seems to like to go higher during the day and lower at night. Paws crossed it isn't so. I can speak from experience that is not something you want a cat to get used to. Hey Cobb, please mix it up a bit and prove me wrong.

It is great to hear Cobb's not as hungry as he used to be. These lower numbers are agreeing with him.

Re: 1/16 Cobb AMPS 325 +3 337 +6.5 347 PMPS 260

The PM cycle colors are changing

I want to say in most cases the PM cycles get sorted out before the AM cycles do. . .(I'm a bit foggy on that though)

Looking good!

Re: 1/16 Cobb AMPS 325 +3 337 +6.5 347 PMPS 260

It's not unusual for cats to run lower at night. Wouldn't you know? :-D

You're doing super with him, Suzanne!
