1/20 Chyna PMPS 293 +2 291

Hi Everyone! Yesterday: Chyna 1/19

I'm very late today doing a condo! My whole day has been running late. I slept over the alarm, my meter kept giving me error and I wasn't ready with my back up of the same brand (it's in a box in the closet) ohmygod_smile so I ended up using the new Bayer Contour that I hadn't tested yet with the strips that expired in Nov for AMPS. Chyna tried to walk away since she thought we were done. I tried to test myself and couldn't poke deep enough or find the lancing device in my morning foggy brain! And off to work I ran, and have been running ever since, way too busy for a Monday :roll:

Now I'm home for lunch. I tested Chyna with the Bayer and got a 191 and with the Accu-Chek (which just needed a new battery) and got a 234 (same big drop of blood). So since I tested the AMPS with Bayer and it's blue at +6 I put that one in my spreadsheet ;-) I know, meter varience...has anyone used both of these, and noticed one runs lower than the other? I am also attempting to get a ReliOn Prime from someone in the US right now...then I'll have 4 meters so I shouldn't have a problem :lol: Tonight I will be getting my back up Accu-Chek unpacked from it's box and putting the batteries with the supplies I use for testing! :?

Anyhow, I have to eat and run back to work! Chyna is purring and seems happy today, most Ps in place! And BLUE I'll BBL to visit condos, I hope this afternoon if it dies down but if not, tonight! Thanks for visiting us

I can't answer your meter question since I've only used the Relion's, but a 191 and a 234 are basically the same number, so I don't think it really makes a difference which one you use....I'm like you..if I get 2 numbers, I put the lowest one on my spreadsheet too :lol:

A 191 can be anything between 153 and 230 with the 20% figured in
A 234 can be anything between 187 and 281

so you can see there's lots of overlapping numbers

I hope the rest of your day went better than your morning did. Meter variance can drive you crazy if you dwell on it too long. I'd put the lower number on my SS too.

Hi Rachel,
I don't pay much attention any more to "meter variance" or comparing meters. Whenever I checked these things it turned out to be "the cat"--not the meters at all. Now I just figure that if I get a whacky number it will get straightened out at some point in the cycle. Or the number wasn't whacky at all!!

Thanks for the visits, and the input on meters guys It was nice to see you all, Chris, Carla, Catherine, Jane, Amy, and Ella! My afternoon did not calm down, and I was very happy to leave to go home! I have a headache tonight, so I'm going to try hit the hay early, if I can. Chyna gave me a nice yellow PMPS after a blue this afternoon, so that was nice. Poor girl had to get poked several times tonight to get blood, her bean just isn't up to par today :?

I think I'm going to use the Bayer for now, just to use up those expired strips. It won't take long to use 50 :roll:

I hope you're all having a nice evening, and I'm sorry if I missed your condo. I'm going to try get some more visits in before I crash :shock:

Nice to see that blue, whatever meter got it! :lol: Meter comparison is a sure way to the looney bin... Are Chyna's ears nice and warm? Hugs to you, Rachel.

Sorry to hear about your headache...hope you can sleep it off. I, too, hate those days when you just never seem to catch a break. Glad she's giving you some yellows so that you can comfortably go to bed early. Sleep well and feel better tomorrow, Rachel.

Looks like a "normal" Lantus cycle tonight. Paws crossed Chyna touches her paws in blue.

I agree with others on the meter changes driving you crazy. Although I must admit when Neko was getting some really ugly colours at the beginning of her FD dance, I occasionally retested with the Bayer Contour (vs. Relion Confirm), just cause I knew I'd get a number instead of that horrid "Hi". :lol:

Last year, Lu-Ann/Grayson tested a bunch of meters for DCIN during the month of January, including the AccuCheck vs. Bayer (and Relion). You can check out the results here. Although the AccuCheck was usually higher, it wasn't by much.

Missed your condo earlier, and didn't get back on until late, so you're probably already dreaming away that headache.

Nice numbers for Chyna this morning. At least she stayed out the stinky pinkies this evening, too. I hope you feel better in the morning and have a good day, with some lovely blues.
