4/9 Smokey Gum day #11 AMBG 97, +3 112, PMBG 98

Still green.

I woke up to the Twilight zone. It was after feeding time and Smokey didn't care, Peanut was the one who finally told ma to get out of bed. Usually its Taz and Smokey that are the eaters and Peanut the picker, but this morning the opposite. Smokey refused to eat a thing, wouldn't even lick the food and its one of her favs. Taz ate a couple of bites when I held it up to her in bed, but not much. Peanut wolfed her's and Smokey's down and she never eats that much. We are past +1 and Smok still hasn't eaten a thing.

She doesn't seem sick or anything. Begging for petting in her fav spot and now being me sleeping with her belly in the air and a little ma-come-pet-me noise coming out of her every couple of minutes.

The only thing I can think of is that I tried Wellness Core for the first time last night and Smokey LOVED it. Licked her plate clean, then everyone elses. I put the other half of the can into the feeder so many Smokey and Taz wolfed all of that down and left poor little P hungry.

Oh Boy almost there! Sounds like you had a couple of sated kitties this am. Poor peanut.

I almost didn't test and ruin our run of greens, but I highly suspected a blue like this a loud and rambuncious as she was, so I wanted to check. Sure enough.

Still hasn't eaten, there is one bite missing out of the autofeeder that could have been her since the rug was drug across the feeder and that's what she does with food she doesn't like - she buries it.

Is Smokey copy-catting Max's number again? The one digit apart thing. It's like they are conferring to shake things up.

Mel, I love that she buries her food she doesn't like. It's not enough to just walk away. She has to make a statement!

try some more of the core...sounds like that was a hit.

Sounds like a hunger strike for core to me... "I can't believe you've been holding out on me all this time feeding me this garbage! I want the good stuff!"..

I have a cat that buries too.. he makes this just disgusted with the world face and covers up the dish.. if there's nothing around, he just digs on the carpet. Wish he took the same attitude towards the litter box deposits.. haha.

OMG Dawn, maybe your guy and Smokey were separated at birth. She will try to bury anything stinky except for the LB! She spends all night to drag a piece of clothing halfway across the bedroom to cover up food or puke, but poops and runs away from the LB as fast as she can.

I was also suspecting a hunger strike for the Core. I don't know the exact #s on Core, they aren't in Janet and Binky' lists. It looks to be really good, but with a higher AMBG, I didn't want to push it. I did finally get her and Taz to eat some Sophisticat after the 112. Guess we are on a FF strike, not good when I still have about 15 cases of old label. ohmygod_smile

Oh geez.. you have tons of the other food in the cupboard? Then it's a hunger strike for sure hahaha.

Can you post the ingredients list on the core?

The one we tried is Chicken, Turkey, and Chicken Liver Formula http://www.wellnesspetfood.com/product- ... ngredients . The potato in it is what concerns me, otherwise it looks like a very good quality cat food that I wouldn't mind them liking because it would give us something to go to after the FF.

I see they do actually have some as fed numbers on their web site. Maybe I can figure it out. I hope it is a good one. Better quality that the regular Wellness and not as gooey. The girls definitely give it their vote. Today.

Hmm I see "as served".. but not as fed.. they aren't the same..

With "as fed" - protein+fat+carb=100%

Looked at the Wellness Core closer, yup "as served", not fed - isn't that just repeating the guaranteed analysis?? ohmygod_smile I think that's what by Naturre Organics just sent me, haven't had time to look closely but I did see that they didn't add up to 100; and the person even emailed a second time to confirm she had given me as fed numbers :?

Smokey is lookin' good, these 11 days just zipped by so quickly!

Nice evening numbers .. and after all of your food worries. Somehow it works out in the kitty's best interest, usually by training the owner to jump at their every whim. Sound familiar?

So ya'll are closing in on this thing. Did you break down and feed more core? did she take the blanket off her other food?

BTW, I have a nutrient profile sheet sent by the Wellness folks earlier this week for the CORE if it would help you. It has the 'as fed' among other things. May be that's what you already have. I don't know how to interpret the numbers correctly. I bombed trying to interpret the others. Janet replied to my post & converted the one's for the Holistic Select the other day. I tried to make it work w/ her formula, but didn't get the same results. You're the CPA, maybe you can figure it out. Let me know if you want it.

Haha, Betty I am on CPA on April 9th, this brain is fried @-) I sent a question on the Core to Janet along with some information on another food today. Maybe she will work her magic and produce the info we need on it.

No I did not cave and feed Core, I ran out the door and let hubby deal with the attitudes :twisted: They ended up getting the ProPlan Chicken and Liver for snak and supper and did pretty good with it. That's another one we haven't fed a lot of so they think they are getting something special.

Civie issues: My Taz was limping all day. I thought it was laziness that she wouldn't get out of bed, but I think she was laying wrong and on her shoulder that is sore and couldn't push herself upright to get out of the cat bed. :sad: After she got out of bed, she jumped and scratched fine but walking across the room she limped on her front leg. I hate seeing that kind of thing on a Friday. Now we either watch it over the weekend or try to get into the emergency (carpy) vets. She doesn't seem bothered by it, just limps like her leg or foot or shoulder hurts. We are wondering about arthritis maybe.
