Good morning,

Yesterday's condo

Yesterday
APMS=171 (0.75u); +1=227; +2=238; +8.75=236
PMPS=227 (0.75u); +2=227; +4=212; +6.5=212

Today
AMPS=221 (0.75u); +1=245; +2=221; +8.75=232
PMPS=248 (0.75u); +2=239

Lucy is still not doing so good.
She vomited yellow liquid about an hour before AMPS, so I gave her Pepcid.
She was purring and seemed fine at around AMPS, and started eating, but then she stopped half way through.
She went to poo and had a shaped poo, and ate a bit more.
Then she went to poo again and had a pudding poo.
She eventually finished the 1st breakfast, but I'm not getting any purr.
She doesn't seem to be painful. She's still moving around.

This is really the worst timing for her to be like this since the dental is on Thursday.
But with Lucy, there's really not a good time for dental, there's always something, and I do like to get this done before her kidney values get worse.
I don't know what to do..... I'll call the dental vet if Lucy doesn't get better.

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221 // not doing so well

((((Mariko)))) I hope Lucy gets to feeling better. You take such good care of her.

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221 // not doing so well

Hi Mariko,
We are sending a beautiful bouquet of feel-better vines to Lucy. Hope she will be well when it comes time for the dental.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221 // not doing so well

Fingers and paws crossed that whatever is causing her to not feel well ends so the dental can proceed. What stage CKD is Lucy? Has she ever had pancreatitis? We have had to wait at times for Max to be at a good point for a dental. I know how that feels. Good luck.

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221 // not doing so well

Piling on the vines for little Lucy. I hope her tummy starts feeling better so you can get that dental out of the way.

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221 // not doing so well

Thank you so much for all your vines and well wishes.
They are working.
Lucy ate almost all her breakfast slowly, by finger-feeding as usual.
And I managed to sneak some FortiFlora sprinkles in. (She doesn't like it.)
Such a good girl. cat_pet_icon
And I got some purr too, with help from ZoomGroom.
It's the best music to my ears.
She's still not herself, her purr is not nearly as loud as usual, I had to put my ears on her body to feel the vibration of purr.
So I would really appreciate it if you could please keep the vines coming.

Elise - Lucy is early stage 3 CKD. And yes, she has pancreatitis, and it's chronic, but she seems OK when it's not flaring up. I say chronic because her spec fPL has always been high.
Plus she has IBD. So the perfect timing for dental is not going to happen for Lucy.
I just want her to be strong enough.

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221 // not doing so well

Sending feel better vines to Lucy.
Let us know what the dental office says.
We'll be sending strong good dental vines on Thursday.

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221 // not doing so well

I'm glad she's starting to feel better...prayers are still coming from us!

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221 // not doing so well

More feel better vines for Lucy. Hope she continues to feel better.

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221 // not doing so well

I'm glad she's feeling better but still sending a ton of healing vines and white light for Lucy to feel better.

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221 // not doing so well

Hi Mariko,

I'm sorry that Lucy is feeling so yucky.. I hope her stomach starts to feel better right now.

I'm curious.. what has Lucy been eating well on her own for the past few days, before the puddle poo? Has she been eating any fish flavored cat food? And also, what type of food are you finger feeding her since she wouldn't eat on her own?

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221 // not doing so well

Mariko:

I'm piling on more good tummy and appy vines, and lots of prayers for Lucy to feel better and eat!!!

C'mon little Lucy, you need to eat your fuds so you can be strong and healthy. cat_pet_icon Your mamabean loves you so much. Please get better. :YMHUG:

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221 // not doing so well

Piling on more feel better and happy tummy vines for Lucy. She can never have enough of them. :YMHUG: I'll be thinking of you and the dental the next couple of days. I can almost see the dental vetty's place from mine - if it weren't for some trees and if I had a good telescope.

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221;+8.75=232 // little better

Thank you so much for all these vines.
I am going to show this condo to Lucy.

Lucy is feeling a little better.
She's usually in a better mood in the afternoon.
She purred for me without the ZoomGroom, and I could hear it without attaching my ear to her.
I can't tell yet how her appy is going to be like this evening.
Keep feeling better, Lucy.

I called the dental vet.
I didn't talk to the doctor. I think I spoke with a nurse.....
She thought I should still plan to do the dental as scheduled and pointed out that her not feeling good may be due to bad teeth.
She said that we will have time to discuss with the vet before the procedure on Thursday, and he can assess then.
And when the anesthesiologist comes in, she can also check.

Tina - Lucy's been eating Wellness. Primarily Turkey. Whenever she turns her nose up, I try Chicken. And it that doesn't get her to eat, I give her Turkey&Salmon.
I know how you feel about fish foods, but I haven't given her anything new. She's been on Wellness Turkey as well as Turkey&Salmon for years.

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221;+8.75=232 // little better

Adding more prayers for Lucy to feel better and eat good for you. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221;+8.75=232 // little better

I was thinking about posting that you can always reschedule if she's not feeling well by Thursday. Those nurses always get in the way between you and the doctor.
I hope she has a good day tomorrow and Thursday and a perfect dental.

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221;+8.75=232 // little better

I'm glad Lucy's feeling a little better. Paws crossed she'll be feeling good for dinner today and tomorrow. I had a good chat with the dental vetty before they took her in. They take lots of time with an exam and you have plenty of time to talk about any concerns before you have to commit to going ahead. You might want to write a check list. Don't forget the No Convenia and No Metacam - I told them and they put it on a sticky on Neko's file. And tell them what time you want the BG tested, although not as big a deal if you aren't giving the morning shot.

@Dyana - Mariko is getting a board certified anesthiologist vet to attend, and that vetty lives a ferry ride away, so complicated to rearrange and coordinate with the dental specialist.

Re: 4/15 Lucy AMPS=221;+2=221;+8.75=232 // little better

With older kitties my vet uses only gas, isoflurane, for anesthesia as they wake up really fast from it. Just wanted to pass that along, Max had a dental and did well last year. I on the other hand was a basket case until he came home. I'm sure Lucy will breeze through too.

Re: 4/15 Lucy PMPS=248 // BETTER!!

Thank you sooo much again for checking in on Lucy. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

She's doing much better!!! I am so relieved.
She started visibly feeling better towards the evening.
About an hour before the PMPS, while I was working, she jumped on my chair (she trained me to sit shallow a long time ago.), and then jumped on my desk.
So I showed all your kind messages to her - "Look at all these vines and well wishes from your LL aunties!".
She ate the 1st dinner pretty well too. She likes to change her mind about her mood, so I'm still watching her like a hawk.
LL vines and prayers are like magic! Thank you so much!!!
Please please send some again on Thursday, extra strong please!

Wendy - Good idea about the list.
I'll start right now.....

Re: 4/15 Lucy PMPS=248 // BETTER!!

Hi Mariko,

I'm so glad to hear that Lucy is continuing to feel better. Can I go ahead and send lots more prayers for continued improvement tonight and then even more prayers on Thursday? It doesn't matter, because that's what I'm going to do! Lots and lots of prayers, healing vines, appy and tummy vines....you've got everything I can send!

You're doing a great job with Lucy. I can't imagine how stressful it is for you right now. That's why I'm sending lots of prayers your way, too! :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Keep us updated on how she's doing!
Shelly
