Lucy is still pretty tired today.
Her appy this morning was so-so, but all things concerned I'd say she's doing good.
She probably needs a bit more time to rest.
The ABs are probably making her feel tired too? Do ABs do that?
So far, she's not having diarrhea, but I'm giving her ReNew probiotic.
I haven't seen enough poo activities for 2 cats.
Someone pooped a big poo out side the box yesterday, but I couldn't tell which cat.
Either way, someone's not pooping enough! :-x

4 pills of ABs down!!! 10 more to go!
It didn't go so well this morning either, but I got it in.
As I suspected, she resisted harder this morning.
She actually tried to run when she saw me approaching with the pill and a syringe of water.
Her leg muscles aren't so strong, but she sure got very strong neck/facial muscles.
I couldn't tilt her head at all by the scruff, so I ended up cradling her in one arm like a baby.
I tossed the pill in when she opened her mouth to complain. Syringing water wasn't so bad.
Lucy used to resist ear pokes in the beginning, but we both got better at it, so I'm hoping the same will happen with the pilling.

I hope everyone's having a nice weekend!

Good job on the pilling! That is a challenge. I'm glad the appy is ok. Sending poo vines for whoever needs them.

I'm counting down the days left for ABs (already) with J.D. too :-|

I hope a good rest will make her feel much better tomorrow. I think the ABs do make them feel yuckier than normal.
I know last time J.D. had them it was between days 3 and 5 that I was wanting to call the vet to say please can we stop the ABs, but then he started to feel better on them after that.

Good job on the pilling. I wish you continued success.
Sending more appetite vines to Lucy

We're continuing to send healing prayers to sweet Lucy! It sounds like she's doing awesome, considering the procedure and the ABs. I hope you're able to get in lots of weekend snuggles!!

Dear Mariko....finally a reason to chuckle. I feel so bad, and offering little prayers for Lucy, every day, waiting for you to tell us that she's feeling good and eating well.
I had to chuckle, when you said you popped the pill in, when she opened her mouth to complain.

Re: 4/19 Lucy AMPS=193;+2=203;+5=216

Looks like Lucy is doing well. I hear you on the pill struggles. All my cats except Minka have VERY strong jaw muscles, and I'm so afraid of hurting them when I try to pill them. Minka has to have two to three pills a day, and she won't always eat them in her food, so she's used to being pilled. Not that she is an angel. We find one of her thyroid pills on the floor occasionally, even though we try to be very sure they went in and down. By the time we find them, we can't tell how long they've been there, so she misses one now and again, but her numbers are stable, so I don't worry about it too much.

Is Lucy still getting pain meds? Her mouth might be a little sore, and that could affect her appy.

Sending healing vines and appy vines too. Enjoy your Caturday, Mariko!

Re: 4/19 Lucy AMPS=193;+2=203;+5=216

I'm sorry Lucy is fighting you on the pilling now. You did a good job getting it in. I hope Lucy starts feeling better soon. Sending more prayers for Lucy's healing.

Re: 4/19 Lucy PMPS=184

Thank you very much for checking in on Lucy! :-D
I napped snuggled up to Lucy most of the afternoon, and she purred a lot.
It was very nice.

Lucy was having low immune issues earlier today.
I think it's a delayed response to the street from the dental.
Teary eye, runny/stuffy nose, and some coughing.
But all these symptoms are very mind, and already better this evening.
I gave her L-Lysine with the 1st dinner.

She ate the 1st dinner fine, and had a big poo! - Soft but shaped.
So I just have to watch for Ginger's bowel movement now.

5 pills of ABs down, 9 more to go!!!!
This evening, I tried something new.
I remembered I had a small sample bag of NV raw chicken that I got for Ginger (she didn't like it).
So I wrapped the pill with a small morsel of it. I knew the texture is sort of sticky.
SUCCESS!!!!!!
Lucy is a fast learner, so she may not be fooled the same way tomorrow, but we'll see.
So far, I've pilled all 5 capsules using different methods each time.

Tricia - She gets Bupe for the pain. :-D

Re: 4/19 Lucy PMPS=184

It's a good thing you are a smart bean and can think of all these different ways to pill Lucy :-D I'm glad she is feeling better this evening and is eating, and pooping! Poo vines to Ginger! I hope you're all having a good weekend :YMHUG:

Re: 4/19 Lucy PMPS=184

Hi Mariko,

I'm just dropping by to see how Lucy's doing. It sounds like she's improving little by little. That's great news on the poo. I hope you find more soon (from Shasta)! ;-)

Sending more prayers for both Lucy and you!
Shelly

Re: 4/19 Lucy PMPS=184

It's so nice to hear from you, (((Rachel))).
Shelly, my other cat who needs to poo is Ginger! - although Shasta is also a very nice name.

Re: 4/19 Lucy PMPS=184

Well, that would be quite a feat if you found poo from Shasta, then, wouldn't it?!   I'm so sorry, Mariko. I have two FDMB windows open at the same time, and it's quite obvious that didn't work out too well for me! ohmygod_smile

Let's try this........I hope you find good poo from all the kitties in your house!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Thank you for the revised poo wishes!

Time to ease on down to blue Lucy. And please feel better tomorrow.

Mariko - I hope the NV Chicken trick works for a while. I wouldn't want to have to learn a new trick each time. :o You'll be a pro a pilling after this.
