Last Night's Condo

Ahhh, things always look better after a good night's sleep! I wasn't sure I would sleep, but nature took over and I eventually konked out. I woke up to a warm, purring body next to me, t-shirt and all! :-D Sasha seems no worse for wear this morning, to my amazement. She does not seem to be very uncomfortable, although I notice she is keeping her movements to a minimum. She did roll around, purring, on the bed this morning when I got up and took away her backrest. She does not seem to have disturbed the t-shirt at all, and I am so glad, as I think it is much more comfortable than those wretched collars. She ate all her meds in their PPs and a nice breakfast with no issues. I'm a little less stressed about her today, trying not to think about what may come with the results of the biopsy. Nothing I can do about that, so let's concentrate on today.

As requested, photos:

Cinco is being a flat blue kitty. I would be less pleased if we didn't have his Oncology appointment this afternoon. At least I don't have to wonder what he's up to as we're driving to Davis! The numbers are a little higher than I'd like, but he could be bouncing, so I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth! He did wake us up at 4:30 this morning, walking around and hollering at the top of his lungs. Second night in a row (forgot to mention it yesterday). This is getting old. No clue how to cure it. :YMSIGH: Al least he's healthy enough to do it - absolutely nothing wrong with his lungs, that's for sure!

Gotta go jump in the shower and get ready to go to UC Davis.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:

Haven't been following Dimitri, but wishing him well as he begins this new chapter in his life. Congratulations to him and his bean, Janet! :RAHCAT

Re: 5/20 Cinco AMPS 165 +3.5: 151 +5.5 129

Sasha sure looks cute in her little T-shirt! Glad to hear she's taking it all in stride and doesn't seem to be too uncomfortable!

I'm sure if it were us wearing those e-collars, we'd be much happier in a t-shirt too!

Nice flat blue cat! Go Cinco! With China, I couldn't say "At least I don't have to wonder what he's up to as we're driving "....she seems to go lower when she's stressed!

DM wants to go to Branson soon...Would mean taking China with us, but with her numbers usually going down when stressed, I'm not looking forward to stopping at the rest stops to poke my cat! We'll just have to see how it goes I guess!

Hope the news from Davis is good news, and as always, hoping that the LL "miracles" continue for both Cinco and Sasha

Sending lots more good vetty vines your way!

Nice blues for Cinco! I'm glad Sasha is being a good girl. Thinking of you and paws crossed for good news.

Nice safe driving blues today. Sending tons of good vetty vines for Cinco.

Sasha does look cute in that T - looks like it was made for her. Vines for her too.

Such cute pictures. I'm glad Sasha is doing well today. I hope everything goes well with Cinco's appointment.

Re: 5/20 Cinco AMPS 165 +3.5: 151 +5.5 129

Sasha is absolutely adorable in her t-shirt! My civvie Frankie wakes us up night after night...we take turns addressing it. For her, it seems to be a bit of separation anxiety, especially with me. If DH is in the bedroom and I'm snoozing on the couch, Frankie is fine; if it's the other way around, she scratches at the bedroom door. I love being loved....but I need me some sleep, too!

I hope all went well at the oncologist today...sending prayers and watching for an update!

Re: 5/20 Cinco AMPS 165 +3.5: 151 +5.5 129

I'm glad to hear Sasha is doing fine with the t-shirt. It's amazing how resilient these guys are. Gabby had abdominal surgery and the vet said to not let her jump. I got her out of the carrier and she jumped onto the bed.

I hope things went well at UC Davis. Please update when you can.

Re: 5/20 Cinco AMPS 165 +3.5 151 +5.5 129 Onc Visit

Got back from UCD and I had to stop and have a bite to eat, as I missed lunch. Cinco was not happy on the drive in either direction. He just hates being in the carrier and does his best to try to get out. He was, as usual, a good boy for the vet and the vet student that examined him. The vet said that he seems to be doing really well - she didn't find anything that caused her concern about the cancer spreading. :-D I asked about the B-12 and she said that's a big debate in Oncology right now. She's heard both sides of it, and her position is that if I feel it's helping Cinco, she doesn't think that the amount he's getting is enough to cause any cancer to grow or spread. So we keep the Zobaline in the diet. She liked how well controlled his diabetes is and said she totally understands my position in not wanting to mess with that, and with his overall improved health, by starting Chemo. She said that as long as I continue to watch him closely and take him in at the first sign of anything unusual, she feel I'm on the right path. She complemented me on making "educated choices". She said that the first three months after the surgery are really the critical time when symptoms usually show themselves, and if we make it past that, we can back off a little on the tight monitoring, but still be watchful. She wants to see him again in 6 weeks, and redo the bloodwork and possibly the abdominal ultrasound then. I felt much better when I left there. Cinco peed in the carrier on the way home, as per usual. This time he hadn't wadded all the pee pads up in the corner, though, so it was contained and easily cleaned up when we got home.

Sasha is still doing fine. She's had a quiet day, sleeping mostly. I think the pain meds probably make her drowsy. She isn't as loopy as she was last night, though. I'm going to go out and see if I can find some more t-shirts. That one is a little tight around the middle, and loose at the neck. I may check for doggie shirts, too. I'm just glad she doesn't seem to mind it. I once got her a sweater, because she's always cold in the winter, and she HATED it! Maybe because the t-shirt is lighter, it doesn't bother her - or maybe she's still too drugged up to care! Either way, it's working, so I'm happy.

Hi Tricia,
This is really good news. I'm glad that Cinco had such a good vetty visit. And Sasha looks lovely in her t-shirt. What a beauty she is!
Have a good, restful evening.

Hugs and scritches,

Re: 5/20 Cinco AMPS 165 +3.5: 151 +5.5 129 Onc Visit

Blue surfs are one of our favs. :-D Many vines for Sasha and her beans. She is very cute in her t-shirt, I hope that continues to work for her. Triple paw crossing for the biopsy.

Thanks, everyone. I am very happy about Cinco's appointment today.

He's surfed blue all day today. I'm hoping it's just because of the stress of the doctor visit. I forgot to mention that the vet student noticed a yellow fluid leaking from his posterior and asked me about it. I had not noticed it before and asked about his anal glands. The Oncologist looked at it and said that is what it was, but it seemed that most of the fluid had already leaked out, so she just cleaned him off and said he was good to go. Poor little guy - so many indignities. After that he was happy to crawl back into his carrier! Until I closed the door, of course!

I could not find any more baby t-shirts at Penneys, Sears or Macy's, but I did find a cute little doggy t-shirt at Petco. I'll post a pic of it tomorrow. Sasha is still not moving around a lot. I built a series of steps up to our bed (it's on a waterbed platform, so it's high) and she climbed up it and curled up in her favorite spot this evening.

Sweet dreams, LL!

Hi Tricia,

I am happy to hear about the positive vet visit for Cinco! Yes! I will continue to pray for continued progress for Cinco
