Boooooo Mr. Liver or stupid antibodies. Whichever...booooo.

Well, Cobb definitely climbed last night. Hopefully the R I gave overnight stopped the bounce in it's tracks. Hopefully we can have another nice cycle shortly.

Otherwise, nothing new to report. I got some love this morning, but I'm pretty sure it was really Cobb saying "Hey Mom, Dad left early so now I'm hungry! Get up!"

I have wondered on the bounces if they sometimes "re-emerge" once the R has worn off. that's what it looks like today to me. I thought it happened sometimes to punkin too. i asked once if the liver reaction to low numbers is all at once, or if it continues for a while and no one knew. i'm thinking they might go on for a while, which might explain the return of a bounce cycle sometimes after you've knocked it down once.

That sweet green yesterday was good to see! :-D

Julie, I absolutely agree about the bounces re-emerging. In fact, I've thought that several times. You just put it into good words.

A stressful day here, not Cobb related. Matty has been turning his nose up at his breakfast oatmeal this week, so I figured we should branch out and I made a scrambled egg. Bad bad idea. He broke out in hives around his mouth almost immediately. My poor guy! It didn't seem to bother him, but we went off to the doctor. They think it is a skin allergy. Apparently very common in kids...who knew?! He is fine. The hives had disappeared by the time we got to the doctor but the picture was pretty bad. We came home with an epi-pen as a precaution.

All is well now. But definitely a stressful morning!!

 you have my sympathy! let's hope if you avoid eggs for him for a while his body will calm down and that allergy won't stay. i get hives and they are HORRID. ohmygosh - i went through months of having them at one point. i hope it was just a transitory thing for him.

baby rice cereal? or puffed rice cereal - that can be hysterical to watch a baby eat because they get it stuck to their wet faces. hehehe.

when i first learned about bounces, i thought it was an all-at-once event. then, i suppose after we started using R, it started occuring to me that the liver might be releasing hormones and sugars over a period of time. i watched that same thing happen that Cobb is doing today. very curious. it might be that the length of time the bounce lasts is directly related to the length of time the liver is busy putting out hormones and sugars . . .

sounds like all your bad luck for the weekend happened today - hopefully the rest of the weekend will be restful!

Yikes on little Matty's allergy reaction! I hope that's over with for now.

I didn't use R for Neko but I've seen that often the worst part of her bounce is the start of the third cycle after the low event. I think the same thing sort of happens with her on Levemir too, but it's not as obvious because what was the start of a cycle on Lantus is now several hours later. So to me it's not like the bounce re-emerges, but I always thought of it as the liver remembering again what happened.

I have true food allergies and carry an epi-pen. I don't take it half as seriously as I should..I also break out in hives on my face when I've eaten something I'm allergic to, and I will have an immediate migraine about 15 minutes after eating that poison food to me. Sometimes my body will want to throw it up, which is actually a very good thing.

The scary thing about true food allergies is when your throat closes up so that you cannot breath. Your blood pressure will drop too and you'll feel like you're really tired, like way too tired narcolepsy-like, as if you're going to faint or fall asleep immediately. It's because there's not enough oxygen getting to your heart, and yah, that can kill yah.. That's what my allergy specialist told me.

Unfortunately, a baby cannot communicate that too you. I would also watch closely and see if Matty gets incredibly sleepy after eating any particular type of food, like sleepy within minutes of eating, not like one hour.. I'm not trying to scare you I'm just sharing some of the things that happen to me with you.

But hopefully it's just the eggs that his body doesn't like.. I can barely eat anything I've tested positive for so many allergies. :YMSIGH:
