Yesterday, daytime slide, followed by one of her flattest cycles ever!

5/27 Recap:
AMPS 218 +9 147
PMPS 100 +3 103 +9 106

Yup, between last night's PMPS and this morning's AMPS, Neko had a variation of an entire 6 points.  :-D She's rising not too badly towards onset today, so I expect she'll be turning that +4 around. She was hollering for food at +1.5 (Otto goes off at +2), which was most annoying as I knew the numbers did not warrant the noise. Once she's had all her meals she settles right down.

Kitties were taunted by a crow this morning. When I went out to the solarium to get that +4, I noticed a dead goldfinch on the deck. It must have crashed into the solarium. DH said he'd go collect the body in a couple minutes. Just after that I saw a big black scavenger land on the deck railings. Cats were going crazy. Then the little goldfinch was gone from the deck. I need to find a way to protect my baby pepper plants that are in pots in the solarium. The pots were being used as launchpads.

OT: Bean went rowing today. Was I ever sore afterwards. Think I'll skip Friday (short race pieces) and see how I do for Saturday. Guess I'm still recovering from whatever went "pop" a week and a half ago.

Re: 5/28 Neko AMPS 104 +4 179

Great news for Neko - wow so flat! Keep on surfing Neko

Hope your feeling less sore real soon and that whatever went pop isn't overly serious.

Have a great day, Wendy! Anne

Great numbers for Neko. I hope she keeps it up. Poor goldfinch. Poor kitties being disturbed by the crow. I hope you heal soon so you can get back to rowing full-time.

Those are some gorgeous flat numbers for Neko and it looks like she's staying pretty flat again for you today too! Blue is very becoming on you, Neko!

That's creepy about the crow, but at least I guess the poor little goldfinch's body didn't go to waste. I have very mixed feelings about crows. They are incredibly smart, interesting creatures, but they are a little creepy. On my college campus when I was in undergrad, there was a massive "murder" of thousands of crows that would roost in huge pine trees right in the middle of campus at night during the winter time. I had a couple night classes where I had to walk underneath some of the trees on my way to the classroom buildings. You always wanted to be super quiet so as to not disturb the hundreds of crows in the trees above you. If you did disturb them, they'd all fly up in a giant thunder of squawking and screeching, raining down bird poop on those below. The college tried various things to get them to move on, including eventually cutting down many of the trees. They ultimately brought in someone to "exterminate" huge numbers of the birds over a holiday break. The sad part was that this group of birds was genetically unique - apparently, this group of birds was basically one big extended family, and had been isolated from other groups of birds, leading to some unique genetic variances.

I hope your "popped" out muscle and/or tendon starts feeling better soon!

Yo Neko, We may have the same PMPS, but I'm on the rise. If you get to the lagoon, say hi to the kitties for me.

Wildlife is wild!

Hope your body recovers in time for your next paddle. Do you know what you did?

Hugs and scritches,

I'm surprised at how many times Neko's AMPS and +9 are almost the same number. Neko broke with her current tradition of going out after PM+1 - it's raining out. She stared at the outside for a while, but eventually turned away from the door. She did have a good time with her toys instead. She has a sisal ball she was hugging and using for a pillow. cat_pet_icon

@Anne, Carla, Christina, Jen, Ella - Thanks for visiting. As per usual, Neko can do two good cycles in a row before her liver starts to get a little concerned. At least on the World tab of the SS her +4 still looks blue. Jen - I used to work near a crow rookery but DH worked at a building right in the middle of it. They had a guy whose job was pressure washing crow crap off the sidewalk each morning. Ugh! And if you time it right at sunset, you can see hundreds of crows flying overhead - very creepy indeed. Tendon or whatever I popped is feeling better than it did this morning. I didn't go to the doctor because all she'd probably say was some soft tissue damage. I know that already.
@Rusty - Following right after you tonight. ~Neko

Hey Neko, wrong direction! Cinco did that the other night and I had to draw a map to the lagoon in braille. It took him forever to figure it out, but he finally got the hang of it tonight. Do you read braille? If so, I'd be happy to send you the map. It took him to a lovely high green, low blue surf.

Sorry that shoulder is still giving you trouble, Wendy. I hope it works itself out soon. I know what you mean - sometimes you know there is nothing the doctor will say or do that is any different than what you already know and are doing. You just have to wait it out. Sending healing vines to you!
