Billie is rocking the green again! I am surprised and happy to see that, as I was expecting a bounce from the big drop she had last night. Maybe the 230 was a bounce, but she came down from it already? I don't know, but it looks good to me. This is the first time I've seen green in two consecutive cycles. Every other time she spent a few hours in green, she bounced through the following cycle. She just had a +3 snack. Hopefully, she'll surf for a while!

You might want to try taking her preshot meal and dividing it evenly between preshot, +1 and +2. It looks like she likes to frequently drop early in the cycle, and if we can slow down her drop early on, she might not bounce from it.

The goal is not to give her more food, just to spread it out.

It's a good idea to put notes in the comments column of the spreadsheet when you're trying out something so you can assess whether or not it helps.

Julie, I will definitely do some more experimenting with her meals. I try to encourage her to eat more at +1 and +2. She will usually eat at +2, but at +1, she seems to be full from her preshot meal and may pick at her food if I add some parmesan or give her boiled chicken. Maybe I should feed less at preshot so she doesn't fill up, and try to push more food at +1. I'll try that tonight.

I have been feeding 5% carb food with her shots and at +1, +2 and sometimes +3. A couple weeks ago, I got 4 or 5 different kinds of MC food around 10% to see if that would help slow her drops, but my picky lady didn't like any of them, haha. I can keep looking for others if that's still a promising strategy to try.

before playing with the carb count, i'd just feed less at preshot and give her some of that at +1 and +2.

So if you normally give her 3oz at preshot and 1oz at +3, i might try 1oz each at preshot, +1 and +2 and +3. Same total, just spread out evenly.

some people have the manipulation of the cycle with food carb count down to an art! i think before i went that route, i'd try just adjusting timing first.

That makes sense! Thank you! 1 oz at preshot, +1, +2 and +3 should work well. I'll just have to keep the remaining food in the can at room temp or warm it up, because Queen Billie does not like cold food :lol: If I try to feed her from a can that has been in the refrigerator, she usually takes one bite, stares at me, and walks away.

+4 62! :mrgreen: I gave her more 5% food.

Yeah, I'd say that 230 was a baby bounce, but she's clearing it nicely!

China's that way with the cold food too....I've gotten lots of those "You're not REALLY expecting me to eat this, are you?" looks....thank goodness for the microwave!!

Mouse temperature food only please....LOL You know, if a mouse is a cat's "perfect food", I wonder why nobody makes Mouse cat food?

Billie is looking bouncy tonight, but she had a great day! I'm trying Julie's suggestion of giving 1 oz of food at a time at preshot, +1, +2 and +3 instead of a bigger meal at preshot and snack sized meals at the other times. Hopefully, she won't have such a big +2 drop!

That's all we can do! Try different feeding strategies until you find one that works best for Billie!

OK now Billie..it's time to come back down now...but slowly! You don't have to do it all at once!!

Thanks Chris! She listened to you about not coming down too fast, but it looks like a bouncy night. Time to catch up on sleep! I hope everyone has a nice evening.
 
Not sure how much I had to do with it, but it looks like spreading her meals across 4 hours may have at least stopped those huge quick drops, so that's an improvement!

Now it looks like you have a flat yellow cat for tonight! Good time to catch up on some much needed sleep!

um, i think your meter might've gotten stuck on 222! ;-) :lol:

nice to see Billie flattened out a bit tonight. When you're trying to manipulate curves with feeding strategies, you want to give it several days (weeks? months?) to see if it works. Just make good notes on the ss so you know what you've tried. One thing people do is to put an * in the cells where they've fed. Or you can write it in comments too, whichever works for you. If you add the asterisk, then you have to color in the cell yourself.
