Good news!
The meds are working, and she's eating better this morning!
It's such a relief even if it's because of Cypro.

Last night, she did ate a little more about 4 hours after Cypro, but only a little at a time.
I really didn't think she was constantly nauseated because she was purry except when I was feeding.
Although no energy, her demeanor was a little different from that of when she's nauseated.
Then I noticed something.
When she started eating, only after a few bites, the middle section of her body gave one quick wave, almost like a hiccup.
And whenever that happened, she stopped eating.
So... I thought, ACID REFLUX?? And gave her Pepcid before bed.
I think I guessed right because she came to bed for a cuddle last night.
She hadn't done that since she got sick on Sunday.
She did puke some yellow liquid early morning, but she still wanted to eat, and ate the 1st and 2nd breakfast pretty good.
And this morning, her body didn't give that wave at all while she ate.

I think I have learnt a good lesson.
In future, I'll use that middle section hiccup as a sign that she needs Pepcid.
Maybe this will help me avoid giving medicine blindly to see which one works.
I just feel bad it took so long for me to figure this out.

Now the bad news...
Her poops are getting softer and softer.
Partly because she's now not eating the Rayne diet, which has a lot of fiber.
And mostly because I've been giving her foods she's not used to, trying to get her to eat something.
She's been pooping small softish poo a couple of times a day, and her bumbum looks a little sore.
I'll try to stick with Wellness as much as I can.

I think she will probably need at least another dose of Pepcid and Cypro before her natural appetite returns.
Hopefully that can wait until tomorrow.

Sending vines to all in need.

Re: 7/4 Lucy AMPS=128

Hi Mariko, so glad to hear that Lucy's appy has improved. Hoping the poo issue improves soon. Great job on the reflux catch. Lucy is so lucky to have such an attentive mom.
Wishing you both a great day.

Re: 7/4 Lucy AMPS=128;+2=122

I mixed some Fortiflora in her 3rd breakfast, and she didn't like that at all. :-x
I then added a little bit of Turkey&Salmon flavor, she still wasn't too impressed, but ate like a good girl.
This is the first time she ate a full meal since Leukeran.

Her number is even looking better today.

Re: 7/4 Lucy AMPS=128;+2=122

It sounds like you are on the right track with Lucy! I started giving Trix pepcid when she developed the pancreatitis. I do dose her BID with it, because I've found that any time I've attempted to cut her back, she backslides, so I like to stay ahead of it. I'm sure part of that also stems from her CKD, since she was diagnosed with that shortly before the pancreatitis attack.

Keep eating and feeling good, little Lucy!

I'm glad Lucy is eating for you today. That's a good catch on needing the pepcid. I hope her poo firms up soon.

Re: 7/4 Lucy AMPS=128;+2=122;+3=128

Nice numbers today for Lucy! Even better since she's eating her full meal. That's great news. :-D

Paws crossed she'll decide she likes the Rayne again soon.

I am super disappointed.
She's not feeling well AGAIN.
She ate well in the morning, and feeling fine and purry during the day until I left at 3:30pm.
When I came home from my volunteer shift, she wasn't feeling good anymore.
She vomited a small amount of mucus, and had a softish poo.

She didn't want to eat, but her number was high enough, so I went ahead and shot.
I wanted to give her the Pepcid while her tummy was empty if that was what she needed, so I thought about it really quickly, and decided to give her the combo of Pepcid + Cerenia + Cypro.
I am going to offer some food soon, but the meds takes time to kick in for Lucy.

Poor little Lucy!

It sure is a roller coaster for her..and you too!

Sure hope the meds kick in and make her feel better tonight so she'll eat for you!

Poor Lucy and poor bean! We have paws crossed the Leukeran works its way out of Lucy's system soon.

We use almost the same cocktail of meds for Zener, but we also use ondansetron, it has worked well for him to relieve nausea.

We are sending healing vines to Lucy.

Anne
