Yesterday's Condo

Does Cinco know how to break a bounce, or what?! :o  The only problem is, I fear this means we will stay on the roller coaster for another ride around. Never did care for roller coasters. :YMSIGH:
I am so glad he likes Forti Flora. It's such a life saver when he is so-so about whatever food is being served. Works ALMOST every time (anti-jinx)! He feels pretty good this morning, even suggesting he could use a back and neck rub! The idea for that usually comes from me, so I was delighted to oblige, even though my arthritis meds hadn't kicked in yet and my hands hurt like you-know-what. Can't pass up an opportunity like that! cat_pet_icon Got a couple handfuls of fur for my trouble. Shedding is ongoing.

Civvie Minka decided she'd been out of the spotlight long enough. Last night as I dragged my tired rear up to bed, I found her lying in the doorway to the guest room, and she looked uncomfortable. A few minutes of scritches revealed that she was making more noise than usual as she breathed in, and sounding snuffly as she breathed out. It doesn't usually bother her, but this time it seemed to. Of couse, this has to happen at 2:00 am on July 4th! I gave her some Zyrtec, then put the humidifier in the guest bathroom, fired it up and turned the shower on full blast. She and I spent the next hour sweating in there. She didn't seem to mind, but I'm not sure that it helped. When the hour was over, she was ready to exit, though. So was I! Wilted and exhausted.

She seemed marginally better this morning, but I called the vet and she agreed I should increase the frequency of her Pred to every other day (from every third), and if she isn't better in three or four days, or if she gets worse, I need to take her in to see if there's an infection. Lovely.

So then Harvey gets into the act. I decided to change things up a little this morning and brought out a can of an old favorite Friskies flavor that had been banned since Harvey's kidney numbers went south. I figured once every few weeks wouldn't hurt, for a treat, since we've got him back to normal. I should have noticed how quickly he was eating, but I was preoccupied with Cinco and Sasha. Next thing I know, Harvey is casting up his accounts all over the dining area!! :o  I had to call in reinforcements. I wasn't up to crawling around and cleaning up the multiple spots (why can't they stay in one place and do it???!!!), so I hollered for the DH. Ten minutes later, there was Harvey, begging for food! I gave him a pepcid, made him wait almost an hour, then I put SEB in the food (NOT the Friskies), which he didn't care for. He snubbed it for a while, but I just noticed him cleaning the plate (Mom=1, Harvey=0). :YMSIGH: :YMSIGH:

Sasha's appy was a little off this morning. She had to be coaxed to eat, and a little kitty krak was needed. I suspect the problem was more that DH heard her eating dry food for about five minutes while I was downstairs feeding the others. Silly girl. Just couldn't wait for Mama! She is otherwise well and snuggled all night long, after restlessly moving from my chest to my shoulder to above my head to my other side- with lots of kisses in between!

So never a dull moment around here, darn it! We did have a quiet 4th - DH grilled steaks and I did potatoes, corn on the cob and salad, and we watched racing and some favorite tv shows from the past week that were on the DVR. More of the same tonight, but rotisserie chicken is on the menu, with a rice and mushroom side dish. DH still hasn't mastered getting the skin to brown and not scorch, with the marinade on it. It's always moist and juicy on the inside, anyway. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:

(((Tricia)))

I have no idea how you do all of that with your own recuperation under way. You must be totally exhausted. I hope you get some rest today although it looks like Cinco is having a bounce clearing day (yay for him!!).

I hope Minka, Sasha, and Harvey are all doing better now. I will send extra prayers for Sasha with her radiation and then chemo treatments. I hope that the two treatments will zap any wayward cells that you don't want there.

Sounds like you had a wonderful fourth. You deserve it. Enjoy your day with Mark.

Looks like Cinco's been taking classes at "China School for bounce clearing in 4 hours or less"!

Time to get your surf on, dude!

What a night you had...followed by what a morning! EEK! I don't blame you a bit for calling in reinforcements. You've got enough to do just recuperating yourself. Add Sasha's surgery, Minke's stuffy nose, and then a grand round of barfing by Harvey, you've got a lot on your hands!....and of course there's Cinco, trying to rush to the lagoon.

I guess he figured it's a holiday weekend and he should do some paddling around! Maybe China will join him later!

Sure hope you get a quiet night tonight Tricia! You deserve it!

Wow. All your kitties are keeping you on your toes today. I hope Cinco surfs safely for you tonight and you can get some rest. I hope Minko, Harvey and Sasha are feeling better.

Nice surfing today Cinco!   I love a good 70's surf and Neko's just decided it's a good place to be too. :-D

Oh my on the rest of the fur kids. They really do seem to be all or nothing. I hope tomorrow is more of the latter and less of the former. Take care of you too Tricia. :YMHUG:

Re: 7/5 Cinco + 10 150 PMPS 253 Another Bounce!

Have I mentioned I hate roller coasters? Here we are, up again! I was so loving that green surf and then up he went. :YMSIGH:

Thanks for stopping by, Liz, Ella, Wendy, Catherine, Carla, Chris and Marje.

Marje, I have no idea how I'm doing it, either. I did have a little meltdown this morning when Harvey started barfing all over the place. I hadn't had any meds yet, and my joints were all screaming, both from arthritis and the unaccustomed moves I've had to make to get around, and I just couldn't handle it. Luckily, Mark came down and mopped up and gave me a few minutes to get a grip.

Chris, we have been saying no good will come of Cinco and China teaming up, and here's the proof! But I don't have the heart to separate them - he so enjoys her company!

Wendy, I love that 70s surf, too. Too bad it didn't last a little longer. I was really hoping we'd skip the next bounce, but.....

Catherine, I'm tired, too! That hour with Minka in the bathroom was supposed to be spent sleeping, and then it took me forever to fall asleep, as I was so worried about her. She doesn't sound any better today. I gave her another Zyrtec this afternoon. If she sounds this way tomorrow, I may just go ahead and take her in. It's just too stressful for me, seeing her like that.

Carla, they excel at keeping me on my toes! Problem is, I'm supposed to stay off my toes! What can I do but laugh?

Summer appy was still in evidence tonight. Cinco required coaxing and plenty of kitty krak to eat his dinner. He still only ate about 3/4 of it. I'd be more concerned if it weren't for the fact that all four kitties are doing the same thing. Despite the A/C being on, it's pretty hot today.

The NASCAR race we were so looking forward to has been postponed till tomorrow due to rain at Daytona. Really hoping I don't have to miss it to take Miss Minka to the vet.

The chicken is on the rotisserie and I need to go get the rice casserole in the oven. Frozen margaritas have been consumed, and more in the freeze await us. Have a great night, all!

....and he's headed back down!

:YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: . I'm sorry everyone is having one sort of issue or another. I hope things have settled down with all of them. How are they doing today?

It is amazing what we can make our bodies do when it involves our furbabies, isn't it? I hear ya on the meltdown...they just have to happen sometimes. I had a huge one a week or so ago, when Petey was barely eating and Trix wasn't eating all that great and I was having a bear of a time trying to get her gelcap down.

The margaritas sounded like a great idea...I hope you were able to relax at least a little bit last night!
