I am feeling over whelmed. Posting on the Pancreatitis Group all his meds, and trying to get him to eat. The Pancreatitis Group says I can try to post on an Anemia Group, but I don't know of one.

He is not liking his vitamins. Is there any liquid vitamins to be had?

I have not tried the Jarrow's B-Right yet. Am I right that I have to divide the capsule into 10ths?

I am late, I have to get off the computer and test J.D. and gather Ginger and out the door.

He ate some baby food and some EVO Kibble this morning.

Sending lots of prayers for J.D. and calming vines for you, Dyana :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: ....

Re: 07/09 J.D. AMPS 327

Hi guys .. I'm also sending calming thoughts your way, and tons of positive thoughts and prayers for J.D.!

Re: 07/09 J.D. AMPS 327

Sorry, about my first post. I was just up at 5:10am, and everytime I turned around I was giving J.D. something. He is going to hate me. I was trying to post to the pancreatitis group and listing all his meds, doses, and times, and everything else I just ran out of time to post to FDMB and had to run out the door.

Last night, he jumped up on the couch with me again, and slept there in my arms, until I made him get up so I could go to bed.
When I awoke, he was not in my bed room (as he hasn't slept in there (while I was there) for a few nights), but was wandering around the living room. I ended up syringing 10ml (which isn't much) of MaxCal before I left for work.
He ate some EVO Kibble, and I am very very tempted to go buy one of those small bags of Fancy Feast dry kibble to put on top of his wet food, to see if that will get him munching again.

I hope he is feeling better today as he got his bupe again this morning, and I hope he is eating during the day (once the evil mommy leaves the house).

Re: 07/09 J.D. AMPS 327

:YMHUG: :YMHUG: Dyana. J.D. doesn't hate you or think you're evil. He knows you are trying to help him. Sending tons of vines to you both.

Re: 07/09 J.D. AMPS 327

I agree with the others, surely JD knows you are doing everything possible to help him heal-sending tons of healing vines, and appetite vines!

Re: 07/09 J.D. AMPS 327

Sending prayers for J.D. and hugs to you. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

I agree. J.D. loves you so much and won't hate you. He may get mad while you're giving him his meds, but he'll forgive you.

Re: 07/09 J.D. PMPS 304

I have not gone out to get the Fancy Feast dry yet, but I am still keeping the thought in the back of my mind..

Almost all the bowls of food (five) were eaten when I got home from work. J.D. weighed 10lbs 10oz this morning and 10lbs 14.5oz this evening, so hopefully he ate some of that food, while the evil mom was gone.

I gave him his Azodyl at PMPS and some cypro and onda about 45 minutes later. He licked most of the juice from a FF Appetizer. I am afraid to offer him food. I am afraid he won't eat it. Okay, I finally did give him some FF Turkey & Cheddar and he ate some of it. I am hoping and praying that his appetite will come back and I don't have to syringe feed him.

Anyone know of any liquid vitamins that I could give him? He so reluctantly took the two chewable ones I gave him this morning. They are the size of a Greenie treat, but I break them into thirds and I had to place the piece in his mouth and hold my hand under his mouth in case he spit it out until he got all 6 thirds down the hatch. He's really supposed to get Nutrived which are higher in iron. They are also chewable, but the size of a dog treat, so I break those up too, but he won't eat those right now, and when I tried to crumbled it up and dissolve it into some syringed MaxCal that didn't go so well. I don't think he liked the taste.

I'm going to go try to see if he'll go for a walk. He hasn't even gone out on the deck to his watering can yet, this evening. No interest. His fur is very soft from his bath. I hope hope hope he is feeling better. Fingers Crossed and Knock On Wood.

Re: 07/09 J.D. PMPS 304

Hi Dyana. So sorry you are feeling so stressed today and that J.D. doesn't feel up to par. I know nothing about the questions you are asking, and I'm sorry about that.
I do not think that J.D. hates you or will hate you....he knows that you are trying to help him.
I hope he eats bunches tonight and you fall asleep and wake up with him in your arms again.

Re: 07/09 J.D. PMPS 304

(((Dyana))) Sorry you are feeling so overwhelmed today. Sending many appy vines for JD starts to eat soon. I don't believe JD thinks you are the evil mom. They seem to have very short attention spans when it comes to medicating. I hope you get some good cuddles tonight.

Re: 07/09 J.D. PMPS 304, +2.5 272

Thanks guys :YMHUG:

Keep sending the vines please.
I don't have much other focus right now, so sorry I am barely posting to other condos.

J.D. ate a couple tiny pieces of steak. Ginger brought another baby bunny home (again, I hope it lives, it when running off as soon as it got over the shock. I hope it finds it's mommy if it still needs her). J.D. ate about 1/3 jar of baby food.

I am going to give him some bupe at 9:00pm. Hopefully that will last until 6:00am, and then he gets another dose at 7:30am before I leave the house. BID is all I can do when I'm working.

Off to bed soon. Please, J.D. eat! Oh, he did have a perfect poo and got and ate some cat treats for the prezzie.

(((Dyana))),
I don't know about liquid vitamins, but there must be some. Perhaps from a compounding pharmacy?

I hope you and J.D. Are having a better evening. I agree that you should feed him what he will eat. Eating is the most important thing now.

Lots of healing vines, and hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

I went to the grocery store and I bought more baby food beef with broth and some with gravy. I bought the small bag of Fancy Feast kibble, and they were having a sale on Fancy Feast canned, so I bought a bunch of fishy flavors. I bought some sour cream (hey, you never know), and I bought some Oscar Mayer Roast Beef.
I got his Nutrive vitamin down, but cajoling and keep putting the pieces back in his mouth when he spit them out and he finally ate two thirds of it and I just pilled the last third. Then, he hungrily ate over 1/4 can of some FF Cod, Sole & Shrimp! :-D

We are sisters today, Dyana.
You and I are dealing with the same thing.

I am glad J.D. ate the fishy food hungrily.
That's wonderful.

Which vitamin are you looking for in liquid?
I think depending on the kind of vitamins, you can find it in liquid.
When I was trying Vitamin E for Lucy, I got it in oily liquid in softgels as well as more watery liquid in a bottle.
I used the softgels because it was easier to give the small dose she needed.
I just made a small puncture with a lancet, and squeezed the liquid onto food.
Or, also depending on the kind of vitamins you are looking for, maybe you can find it in powder in capsules.
Then it will be easier to mix with food if tasteless, or you can dissolve the powder with water.
It may be easier than the chewable kind until he eats better.
But if it's a kind of multi-vitamin, then it may be a pain to convert the dose.
To be honest, I am right now skipping all the supplement kinds like Azodyl or Vitamin B.
I am only giving her the essentials like pred and metronidazole.
Only until she feels and eats better.
Just to make a day a little less stressful for both Lucy and I.

Hugs to you Dyana. :YMHUG:

I'm so sorry J.D. is having such a tough time. I know you are focused on him and very stressed. Please be sure to take care of yourself, or you can't take care of him!

Sending lots of healing and appy vines for J.D., and many hugs for you! :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Hi Mariko. Thanks. And Hugs back to you.
In the past I have taken J.D. off the Azodyl and Denamarin (his normal regular two pills) but I didn't this time.
I am looking for the vitamins that will help to build up his RBCs. The Nutrivet multi-vitamin that my vet gave me is huge and chewable and has 5mg of Iron (man, that's hard to read on dark green color with black letters in 0.005 sized font), and the GNC Multivitamin Plus for Senior Cats that he was getting (or still gets if he won't eat the Nutrived) has 1.5mg and he's supposed to get 2 of those a day, so 3mg total. So, the Nutrived has 40% more iron in it.
