Happy Lupita Friday!!!! Sending healing vines out Lucy, Tiger, Sasha, Minka, Tricia, Zener, Trixie, Trey, and Sabrina, and any others that my feeble mind has failed to recall. Wishing Zack good luck with the last of his OTJ trial and also good luck to Molly and Skooter with conversion to all wet food!!!
Gracie's goal today was to avoid Lupita interactions by staying on the catio. Yes, Lupita goes out onto the catio, but Gracie squishes herself in on the flagstone at the bottom of her condo on her back and pretends to be on a virtual vacation
Unfortunately, mamabean put an end to all of that when I made her come inside the house. I was carrying her and Lupita decided it was a good time to get her hands on the LBG. Oh I wish I had gotten my phone ready to take a photo because the look on her little face was priceless. It was a mixture of stink eye meets harrummph! meets I am the most adorable of adorables all on one little tiny brown face. Before I could grab my phone, Lupita had put her down on the counter. She stared Lupita right smack in the face and that tiny little nose crinkled and she gave her best effort at HISSSS!! but it came out hisss...but I mean it! and then she sashayed across the counter as if to say talking to the tail, Lupe!. And then she took a very meticulous bath SHE got me filthy!!!.
Her right ear is much, much better today. The left ear on the outside still has a lot of hivey looking bumps on it. The lidocaine spray is also a dermatologic anti-inflammatory so I have been putting a bit of that on the bumps as well. I don't want to use the lidocaine long-term for pokeys and so I think I will research polysporin and then take some in for the recheck and let Dr. B test it on her and see how we do. I'm not positive I need anything because Gracie could care less about the pokes. I know using lidocaine long-term can have side effects but when I spoke to the Virbac vet this morning, he said that usually applies to long-term use of relatively larger amounts over a widespread area and not just a tiny dab on her ears several times a day. Still, I like to be cautious. I'm not sure if her BG is up because she's bouncing or it has something to do with her ears. Probably bouncing.
I'm working today but will try to pop on and off to check in. Hope you are all having a great day.
