Zener is doing ok today. No yard patrol, it rained last night (rare here to get rain at night) and everything was still wet, couldn't get his paddy paws wet! :lol: Tillie was anxious to get out for composter or wood pile duty but it was too wet for her too. Appy was ok but was helped along by a tummy massage. His belly was pretty tight and he was twitching his tail while I was massaging so I think it hurt. But then he ate right after that so I think it did some good. He's so good about it all, he didn't bite or scratch, even though I was causing him discomfort. What a sweetheart. We have started massaging along his spine, thanks to Wendy's comments about acupressure for Neko. It seemed to give him a bit of relief.

Oh dear Zener - not pink again. :roll: Time to engage that sliding action today.

For the acupressure, I start on either side of the spine, under the clavicle. I just have a finger in the gap between the vertebra to either side of the spine and hold gently there for 5-10 seconds, then I slide the fingers down over the next vertebra into the next gap, and proceed all the way to the tail. I've got to learn to massage one of her leg muscles that is really tight. Every time I've tried I've gotten tail twitching and verbal complaints. :YMSIGH:

BTW, Neko thinks your kitties are wimps about wet ground. :lol:

Paws crossed that the accupressure helps. i hope Zener is back on woodpile duty soon!

Thanks for the acupressure instructions Wendy and Neko. I hadn't gone quite up as high as the clavicle on the spine so will add that. It sure seems to relax him, more than the acupuncture. Of course, we can do the acupressure at home and no vetty stress!

Z is on evening yard patrol after supper while I update his condo and get his shot drawn up. Tillie is resting up for sunset, when mouse action at the compost is the best. No rain today, so things are dried out nicely.

Nice slide there big guy! He is one lucky guy to get his tummy rubs and his acupressure. I hope it all helps him.

We got some rain, too....just some sprinkles last night.
