Lucy is moving much better this morning!
She is still slow but she isn't taking a break to go from point A to point B this morning.
She even jumped on the coffee table without using the pet stairs. She was a bit clumsy, but she made it.

She is eating good this morning.
She has so far eaten 3/4 of her breakfast happily.
She even sat up and waited to be finger-fed at our usual feeding spot (sofa).

We had the most wonderful cuddle this morning.
After eating the 1st breakfast on the sofa, I hoped she'd stay there, but she moved to the ottoman.
So I sat next to the ottoman, and brushed her gently with her favorite ZoomGroom while she purred.
Then I got sleepy, so I decided to go back to sleep on the sofa instead of bed, so I could at least see her although I couldn't reach her on the ottoman.
When I lay on the sofa, she came and lay on her side of the sofa too!!!!
And I sort of spooned her like we used to, and cuddled for a full hour, both of us in a half-asleep-half-awake state.
I stroked her gently, and Lucy purred the whole time.
It was like before she got sick, and I almost thought "was it all a bad dream?".

Last night, when she couldn't get up, I panicked and asked Lucy's reiki practitioner for an emergency AC session because I thought I might have to make that decision sooner than I wanted.
She said she could do it tomorrow.
Lucy is better today so I hope and pray it's not as "emergency" as I thought yesterday, but I'm still going to ask for this session.
I think that it may be Bupe that made her legs extra weak. It happened after Bupe yesterday.
And she got extra wobbly after Bupe the day before yesterday too, so I only gave her half of what she usually gets yesterday.
Maybe her current state is making Bupe affect her more strongly?
I think I'm going to hold Bupe for a while unless I'm sure she's in pain.

Today is my birthday!
And I got the most amazing gift from Lucy already - a whole hour of lovely cuddle like the old time!
On the vet record, it's actually Lucy's birthday too.
I had to give a date at the vet when we first went there, and since I didn't know, I gave her the same birthday as mine.
Of course, it's not her real birthday, but on the record, she made it to 17!
I have only one thing I need to do today.
My new air conditioner arrived a few days ago, and since it's going to be hot again next week, I'm going to figure it out and test run it.
I'm so glad it arrived before it gets hot again.
Other than that, I am going to spend all day loving Lucy.
Tonight, I'm going to pick up sushi for myself, and tuna sashime for Lucy and Ginger. :smile:

Happy Birthday Mariko. I'm glad Lucy is celebrating with you!! Enjoy this special day. I hope you can try and take things one day at a time. Lucy had good and bad days before the bad news and likely will hopefully for a long time so try not to panic with the bad moments as a good one might very well be right around the corner.

Thank you very much for your birthday wishes.

I was wondering why there is so much commotion in my neighborhood, and it just occurred to me that today is one of the dreadful fireworks day. :-x
It is done only a couple of blocks away from my apartment, so it gets really really loud and scares the cats.
And so many people come and some of them get drunk and make noises until late.
I feel bad to complain about things other people look forward to, but I do not look forward to this event, and they do it 3 times every summer.

Anyway, air conditioner set-up went fine, and it's working good.
It's a little noisier than I like, but so is my air purifier.
It's getting hot, so I'm keeping it on today, and get it running till late tonight, so I can close the windows during the fireworks.

The restaurants are going to be packed in this area this evening, so I already picked up our tuna.

I got 2 cakes - strawberry shortcake and banana cream pie, both for me.
And both with lots of whipped cream.
I'm going to let Lucy lick a little bit of whipped cream.
I know it's not good, but she loves cream and just a little lick or two should be OK.

Happy Birthday Mariko and Lucy!! Strawberry shortcake and banana cream pie (my DH's favorite) sound awesome! So glad you and Lucy got in a great snuggle this morning. I love it when Scully or her brother, Mulder, like to spoon/snuggle with me. It is the best! Maybe with the windows closed and the air conditioner running, the sound of the fireworks won't be so loud. Hope you two enjoy the rest of your evening!

Happy birthday to both of you. I think it's sweet and very appropriate that you share your bd with your best girl. Kudos to you for getting cake and pie nom nom nom and I think Lucy must need the whipped cream!

Lucy lay on her side of the sofa again this afternoon and I got to cuddle some more.
And she's been purry a lot today. I like today very much so far.

And I'm really liking my new air-conditioner already.
The cats don't seem to mind the "new noise", and it cools the room well.
The only regret is why didn't I buy this sooner, even last year?

Lucy ate about 1/2 of her dinner.
Her appetite this evening is not as strong as this morning, but maybe she's saving for tuna and cream.

Happy Birthday Mariko and Lucy! I so agree that snuggling is the best birthday present for both of you.

Enjoy the cake - will Ginger get some too? Sending vines that the fireworks won't be too loud - but I know they will. :YMSIGH: We'll be able to hear them from here, but it's the crazy audience after Saturday fireworks that I'd dread the most.

I'm so glad you had such a wonderful day full of cuddles with Lucy and that she had a good day!
