Yesterday's Condo

We pulled the trigger this morning and increased to 2.25. It makes me sad when we have to keep going up. Cinco was doing so well for a while, and we thought, with the tumor and Bartonella infection gone, he'd stay nice and low, but nooooooooooooooooooo! :YMSIGH: DH was really bummed as he was enjoying the nice, easy-to-measure 2.0! That AMPS reinforced our decision (I know, you don't make dosing decision based on PS numbers, but it was still a motivator!).

I checked Petco yesterday for turtlenecks and found nothing. I liked the one Chris sent me a link to, but we still have some hot days ahead and it looked pretty warm. I found some cute doggie turtlenecks online, but they take 3 weeks to arrive, so that's out. I will try to get out and about earlier this afternoon so I can hit some more places, including a Babies R Us. In the meantime, I bought something called Paws, which look kind of like a balloon and goes over the foot. Of course, Sasha doesn't like it, and has to stop every other step and shake her foot trying to get it off, but it keeps her from scratching. My only concern is that it seems to fit pretty tightly and I worry about cutting off blood flow. I got the correct size, according to their charts, so I guess I'll just keep checking her foot to make sure it's staying warm from blood flow and watch to make sure she isn't experiencing discomfort (just annoyance). I know she itches because she is absolutely ecstatic when we rub her neck. The hair is still coming out and the skin there, where the hair was barely growing back after being shaved, is dry and it's starting to look like she has leprosy. Poor baby. You aren't supposed to put anything on it to soothe it, either. I hope this phase passes quickly.

Overcast, windy and cool here, so appies were correspondingly good. All four cats ate without complaint, for once! I marked it on the calendar!

Got my first workout in more than six weeks in yesterday. I took it easy, just a 2 mile video after my floor exercises for my back, so I only have a little bit of muscle soreness today. I think I'll stick to the easy plan for a couple more days, just to let the body get used to moving like that again. Time to get going on today's session.

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Still cheering for OTJ trial kitties. :RAHCAT

Re: 8/13 Cinco AMPS 313 +3.5 174 +5 152 Dosecrease

Cinco my man, pink is SOOO not your color! ohmygod_smile Orange kittehs looks way better with blues and greens.

Good luck with that dosecrease, sometimes they just need a bit more to remind them of the right direction. I do know what you mean about pink being a motivator for an increase. Fortunately Neko often nadirs at PS so I can look at PS numbers when deciding the dose. ;-)

Good luck finding a T that fits missy Sasha. Sending anti-itch vines her way. Could you do something like add fish oil to her diet to help reduce the skin dryness?

Re: 8/13 Cinco AMPS 313 +3.5 174 +5 152 Dosecrease

I tell you Tricia...it's a conspiracy!! They're out to get us!!
I remember the good ol' days...when Cinco and China were splashing and playing in the lagoon almost every day...now look at them! cat(2)_steam

Maybe instead of threatening them with dosecreases, we should start threatening them with replacement!.....LOL

Re: 8/13 Cinco AMPS 313 +3.5 174 +5 152 Dosecrease

Hi Tricia,
I hope you can find just the right shirt for Sasha. I'm sure it must itch terribly.

Cinco, work that new dose. Surprise them all!!

Have a good evening, guys. Have you considered dosing with calipers? It takes all of the guesswork out of it.

Ella & Rusty (as pink as pink can be today)

Re: 8/13 Cinco AMPS 313 +3.5 174 +5 152 Dosecrease

Good luck with the dosecrease. I hope Sasha's itching passes quickly and you can find something for her to wear. Yay for good appies.

Re: 8/13 Cinco PMPS 188

Much better! Looks like Cinco listened to his LL aunties - or the new dose is working, but I'd rather give y'all credit :-D !

You're right, Wendy. I like him in blue, but I LOVE him in green! I don't know if fish oil would help, since the dryness is a direct reaction to the radiation. They said there was nothing I could do about it.

Chris, you are so right. I think they're together in this, too. We could threaten replacement, but I think they'd know we aren't serious.... Are we? :? :o

Ella, I've talked about calipers, but my DH is not interested. Since he is the designated shooter due to my arthritis, I guess it's a no go. I may pull up the info on it and try again to get him on board...wish me luck.

Thanks, Carla. I don't think the itching is really bad, but even a little scratching could tear that delicate skin.

I went to Babies R Us and found an adorable fleece vest that has a high collar. I think it might be too hot during the afternoons, but she could wear it at night and in the mornings. I guess I can alternate between that and the Pawz on her foot. I also got some of those mittens that they put on babies to keep them from scratching themselves, but the elastic is too loose for it to stay on her foot. I may try tying it on with a ribbon. It might be slightly less annoying than the orange balloon!

Re: 8/13 Cinco PMPS 188

When you were looking for "turtlenecks", my first thought was you were looking for treats.   Nice action today, Cinco, keep it going! Good for you for getting back to an exercise routine! It's tough to get going again, be easy on the intensity and tough on the consistency. :-D
