Zener is feeling a little better this morning. He's done two yard patrols, including a session at the catnip bush. :-D :-D He ate OK, especially after I cut up a treat on top and then later the high carb food. Whatever it takes! He did have a bit of pudding poo this morning, after a nice healthy poo. No miralax tonight, too bad he already got his dose this morning.

OT: Beautiful morning here, calm winds, sunny, pleasant temperature. I'm going to head to the farmer's market, mostly to buy some vegan mac n cheez! And maybe some blackberries if they are still producing. My fridge is stuffed already. When I'm shopping, I forget that Anne isn't here (9 more darks) and my garden is producing a bit now, tomatoes, squash, and cucumbers.

Glad Zener is doing a little bit better....

As for the shopping, I know that feeling. I went from shopping for my family when I lived at home (mom hated it, I loved it), and the first time I went grocery shopping when I moved out... I got home and was like, what was I thinking?!?!?

Oh so glad to see the Z-man is feeling better. Yard patrol, catnip, eating. Yes, Zener, that's the ticket!

Glad to hear your weather's good. I'm at the UT/AZ border almost straight north from Flagstaff; often, your weather becomes our weather. Yes, glad to hear it's good down there!

WOOT! Catnip is supposed to be good for settling tummies. Nice to hear he got a couple yard patrols in and is eating. :-D :-D And better numbers than yesterday.

Happy foraging. Blackberries are still going crazy here - don't need to go to the market to get them. I'm always pulling the vines out of my yard. :roll: But they do freeze well (and make excellent ice cream). Good news on the garden producing, it's been a good year here too.

I too am glad that Zener is feeling better. YaHOO! I so agree: whatever it takes.

Enjoy the market. I am in the same boat as Wendy - those darn blackberries grow EVERYWHERE here, I am constantly pulling them out, and we do get our fill! just as Nicholas and William they will tell you. :-D :lol: I hope you will be successful in finding some.

Yay for feeling better, yard patrols and eating. Keep it up, Zener. You'll feel better if you keep eating! We need you strong and healthy for MamaAnnebean when she gets home.

My garden is finally starting to produce - tomatoes, jalapenos and green bell peppers. It took forever to get them going and now they are going crazy! Nothing beats fresh. :-D

Hi, Glad to hear the Zener is eating and doing a few yard patrols. Whatever it takes to get him to eat is great.
Sending prayers for him to feel well. My brother-in-law planted a lot of veggies this year. He dropped off some corn, cucumber, tomatoes, and peppers. I love fresh tomatoes.

Thank you for all of your good wishes. Zener and I went to the vet today. I was getting to be 3 weeks since his last anal gland expression and the caption of Team Zener had walk-in hours today. Unfortunately, we had to wait 1.5 hours but the good thing is that Anne was back in her room after dinner and we facetimed with her during the exam. Anal glands were full again so hopefully he will get some relief. We are going to try prednisolone instead of budesonide for his IBD. Some vets prefer budesonide because it targets the gut but with his waning appy, I thought it might be worth a try. Dr. Miller and Anne agreed. So he will get some of Tillie's prednisolone tonight and in the morning, then he will get his own script that is sugar free.

Once again, the vet massage did the trick and he ate over an ounce of food when we got home. He also drank a lot so I should have taken water for him. :roll: We are playing tent now, after talking a bit more with Anne. She is off to dreamland and her meetings start in the morning.

Good vetty report! HOpefully the expression and the switch to pred will help Z feel better and boost his appy. Yay for chowing when he got home!!

What a great vetty report. I'm glad things worked out so Anne could attend. I hope the pred helps his appy.

I'm glad the vet report was fine, and good luck with the prednisolone. I hope it does the trick and helps a lot.

Hooray for a good vetty report! I am so glad that he is feeling better. I hope the new meds will help Zener. How nice that Anne was able to be "present" for the exam. The wonders of modern technology!

I'm so happy to read that your wonderful vet was able to help Zener feel better, and that he wanted to eat when you got him home! That's wonderful! I hope the prednisolone helps, too.
