Sunny Yellow Sunday

ohmygod_smile on today's AMPS! Not sure if it was a bad test or fur shot last night, or well... he's a cat.

Thanks all for visiting us yesterday and encouraging our guy. We so appreciate your support and especially the laughs, it is such good medicine for the beans!

We sure hope for some blues and greens today! Other than the crazy number to start with, Z seems to be feeling pretty good, and best news, all the pee last night was in a litter box! We think setting up the new pee palaces has done the trick {{{anti-jinx}}}. We are not going to change his dose right now because I am leaving Wednesday to travel to Berlin for some meetings and a gala celebration for the 25th anniversary of the International Paralympic Committee. I will only be gone 5 darks this time! Still, with Liz taking on the BIC duties, and working, we can't have any crazy PJ party nights. So, shall hold tight here in sort of flat land until I get back (of course, unless he goes to live in red and black land!)

Wishing all a calm and drama free Monday!

Anne

It's good to hear Zener is having a pretty good day, other than that yucky number this morning. I hope you have a safe trip to Berlin Anne.

Whew - good to see Zener has traded in the black hat for a touch of yellow. And that he's feeling good. :-D Great news on the pee palaces - the black light helped me find one that's also candidate for renewal. Amazing how well that stuff sticks to plastic.

The trip to Germany sounds fun. The 25 years is quite a feat. How long have you been with the IPC Anne? Sending lots of flat middle range BG vines to you.

Yellow surfs are good, often means that there is action ahead. (At least that's what I'm telling myself! ) YAY for all the pee in it's place. Our entire living room floor is covered in newspaper until the UTI starts to clear up.

Have a fun trip, Well, I hope this one is fun and not all work!

Re: 9/29 Zener PMPS 217

Thanks Carla, Ann & Tess and Wendy for stopping in to check on our guy. LOVE the pic of the black cat - and so right, Zener does love his colors. We sure wish he loved his fuds as much. It's been an all day slide and makes us wonder if the AMPS may have been a faulty test. Appy has vanished this evening, so tummy massage given and meds on board. We managed to get him to eat a bit of HC so we could give his insulin. Paws crossed he feels like eating more shortly.

Wendy - I've been volunteering with wheelchair rugby since the 1980s. I started doing work with IPC in 2004 on my sabbatical and am still volunteering 10 years later.

The trip will be mostly work. I am hoping for a few free hours to see a few sights in Berlin. Our hotel is very near Checkpoint Charlie and the Brandenburg Gate.

Re: 9/29 Zener PMPS 217

Looks like the Zener Slide is in action today. Good boy!! Great news about pee going into the litterbox and not elsewhere. Rusty is so funny: If he's outside and has to pee he meows to come in so that he can use his litterbox.

Anne, have a great time in Berlin. It is one of our favorite cities. We haven't really lived there since the DDR time and that was super-exciting, Cold War atmosphere. Every day we crossed from West Berlin to East Berlin (to work on manuscripts in the Deutsche Staatsbibliothek) and almost every day there was an incident at the Friedrichstrasse Station checkpoint. You never knew how long it would take to cross. You had to change a specified amount of West German Marks into East German Marks every day and spend them all and show receipts. We were there when the Wall fell and that was amazing. There was a Russian bazaar on Unter den Linden at the Brandenburg Gate and the soldiers were selling their uniforms, equipment, everything under the sun.
Oh well, I ramble on: it must be owing to this flu, or whatever it is. Have a safe trip. I hope you don't get caught up in the Lufthansa pilots' strike.

Hang in there, Liz. Only 5 darks.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Oh Ella, thanks so much for sharing, what an exciting and interesting time to be in Berlin. I am staying at a somewhat new hotel in the Potsdamer Platz so I can explore the area a little. I will think of you being there and of the bazaar when I visit the Brandenburg Gate and Unter den Linden! I should be ok with the Lufthansa strike, I am on US Air and British Airways.

Yo Rusty, I's run inside to use my litter palace too. Must be a trait of the best mousers. - Tillie

Wow, i'd have loved to be there when the wall came down!

Have a great trip anne! We'll help Liz keep an eye on zener while you are gone. Sending appy vines to our little buddy.

Nice flat yellow evening, Zener. Do you have plans for tomorrow???? I've become wary of those flat yellows. If you're going to do something silly, Z-man, do it Tuesday while MamaAnneBean is still here to supervise!

We were in Berlin about six or seven years ago. I didn't care for it - the new architecture is very ugly to me, and the burned out buildings still standing from the war are depressing. It is rather awe inspiring to walk through the Brandenburg gate and think of all that happened there, and to visit checkpoint Charlie and see what's left of the the Wall. I prefer Munich, though. A much happier place.

Sending good appy vines for Zener. Eat yer fuds, Z-man. There are lots of starving kitties all around the world that would love to have them! (My mother always used that argument with me  )
