Thanks Deanna, I am so frustrated with pilling that it did me so much good to read your post. Those are good suggestions, I could easily try that with chicken stock too. The vet offered to give Tiger Clavamox shots- a mere $69.00 per shot! I said no thank you!
Thank you for your wonderful comments as well Marilyn, you have so much more experience with pilling than I do- those are great suggestions as well! I am going back to the store tonight, have to go and vote anyway, might as well pick up some chicken and lunch meat!
At first, Tiger did not have much of an appetite this morning. I was afraid she had thrown up somewhere and I didn't hear it. Fortunately, upon inspection, no vomit found! We had pee and a small amount of poop- not completely hard, but definitely not diarrhea and not too soft. ohmygod_smile Because of the iffy-appetite, I did another BCSS, this time I gave her 4.0 units. She did start eating from the spoon I was holding and eventually if i held the food in my hand, then she really started eating much better. But still, she has just barely finished one and a half cans of food since yesterday nailbite_smile
I talked to the ER vet- she gave double antibiotics trying to eliminate any chance of bacterial infection due to the bloody vomit and diarrhea. I told her I have been unable to get the Clavamox down, she said to keep trying but not the end of the world if she wont' take them. She offered shots of Clavamox, for $69.00 a shot- no thanks! So at this point, I gave Tiger the Carafate and Metronidiazole liquid, and I got her to take 1/4 mg of Pepcid via a pill pocket. Boy, the pill pocket must have a lot of carbs though! The vet also said to ask my regular vet about testing again for B12 in a few days. I might call tomorrow and try to get a Rx for Cerenia and maybe Bupe. I don't think Tiger needs to go back to the hospital, but I think she still feels some pain in her tummy area. sorry, I did not need to write an entire novel on this, but it is amazing how cathartic writing can be! I'm trying not to be a Helicopter Mom, but you know, it is what it is!
To this wonderful forum, again, it makes my eyes water to think that a place like this exists- so much knowledge, caring and kitty love! We don't even have words! And as always, sending tons of healing and comfort vines to all kitties in need and their humans! :YMHUG: :YMHUG:
