Yesterday's Condo

Hello from soggy Northern California! Guess all the praying for rain all year did actually work. We've had over 3 inches so far from this storm. Luckily the high winds they forecast did not materialize. Still not complaining, but this weather is murder on my hair.

(Does anyone know why the writing appears below the image? That happens sometimes and I can never figure it out. I didn't do anything differently than I have when there is no writing.)

Cinco is still surfing low yellows/high blues. I'm off to Costco shortly to get the pens, so maybe we'll crack one open tonight and see if fresh jus makes a difference. Question: Do you store all the pens in the fridge from the beginning, even though you're only opening the one?

Minka did not want to eat this morning. She didn't act nauseated, just uninterested, but I gave her some Ondansetron anyway. Two hours later she still didn't want to eat, so I reluctantly gave her some Mirtz. Thirty minutes later, it kicked in. I know this because you could hear her all over the house! Meowzapine is a very good name for it. She's up in our bedroom now, carrying on. That's the room with the monitor, so I can hear her loud and clear. She did finally eat some cat food, although still a little less than I would have liked. I boiled some chicken for her, but she just lapped up the broth and left the meat. Sasha was more than happy to take care of the remainder.

Harvey hasn't eaten much, either. I haven't been able to catch him to get an Ondansetron or Mirtz down him. He acts like he wants to eat, but after a bite or two, or even just a sniff, turns away. He seems a little better this afternoon, but if he doesn't eat his dinner I will have DH help me catch him and get an Ondansetron down him. I did have him once, but he managed to spit the pill out and escape (I didn't have him in the sack - I had snuck up on him as he slept).

Well, I'd better go put on my high water pants to wade out to the boat car. Hope everyone else that is in the path of this storm gets the rain they need and no damage.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Praying for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, Lisa's DF and Elise's DM. Hooray for the ongoing OTJ trials! :-D

Yes, refrigerate all of the pens. Many appy vines for Harvey, sounds like nausea. Hopefully, the ondansetron will help. Appy vines for Minka too, so she doesn't need any more meowzapine. Hugs to you, Tricia, you take such good care of your babies. Oh, and skritches to Cinco, he is such a sweet boy. :-D :-D

I see Cinco is surfing safely for you again so you don't have to worry about him. I hope you can get the meds in Harvey. I hope Harvey and Minka start eating good for you soon.

Tiffany meowed so much that I switched to cyproheptadine. It worked well and no more howling. Works for Max as well and the only time it made him vocal was when I gave him the prescribed 1/4 or 1/2 pill which was too much. I hope it lasts longer than the 1 1/2 days it worked for Tiff. Mine never acted nauseous. They just became inappetent or would drink the liquid but not eat the food.

Hey Cinco, time to head down to the lagoon please!

Sending you lots of appy vines. If fact, you can have a little of the excess appy we have here.

3 inches of rain? Pikers. A good storm'll bring us 8 inches in a night. Are you getting the wind too? Whistler had 170 km on the mountain, enough to be considered a level 2 hurricane. Pretty wild storm we had on the west coast.

Re: 12/12 Cinco PMPS 194

Thanks for visiting us, Liz, Carla, Elise and Wendy.

The pen saga continues. I went to Costco to pick them up, and they brought out a vial! :o I told the clerk that it was supposed to be pens. She looked at the prescription and said, no this was right. I asked her to read through it carefully, and sure enough, at the bottom, it mentioned pens. I don't know what they heck they sent them, but it wasn't clear. She went and talked to the pharmacist, who said yes, they could change it, but they were out of pens - sold their last three packs this afternoon! :o They'll have one for me on Monday. :YMSIGH:

Cinco looks like he's either planning a blue surf :-D, or a visit to the lagoon.

Harvey ate about 1/3 of his dinner, and then I caught him and got an Ondansetron down him. We'll see if it helps. Minka required a lengthy plate chase, but she ate most of her dinner. Sasha ate a little more than half of hers, and Cinco, of course, ate everything I would give him!

Elise, that's exactly what Minka does - drink the liquid and leave the food. Maybe I'll ask the Oncologist about Cypro.

I've got chicken stock simmering on the stove for soup and a batch of turtles to do before dinner.

Re: 12/12 Cinco PMPS 194

Hey Cinco! Come on down and play!! It's lonely out here by myself~ China

So the saga continues with getting the pens, huh? What a nightmare! Sure hope they get it figured out for you on Monday!

China does great on the Cypro too (when I need to give it to her) It's also something you can give more often than the mirtazapine I think....I know my script says 1/2 tab twice/day, but all it takes to get her going is about 1/16th

At least Sasha's finally eating something other than just baby food! Now we just got to get everyone eating without having you chase them all over the house!

Chicken soup sounds wonderful..especially since you're getting all that rain. Nothing better than hot soup on a soggy or cold day

Re: 12/12 Cinco PMPS 194

What I like about cyproheptadine is that you can pretty much dose it as needed as much as twice a day. Like China, Max just needs a tiny piece of it. I didn"t realize that Tiffany was nauseous either. I thought she was just being picky. I learned from the yahoo groups. That is why I push ondansetron and cerenia so much when I hear about cats not eating.

Re: 12/12 Cinco PMPS 194

Nice blue day for Cinco- good boy!! :-D I am so sorry you're having so much trouble getting those Lantus Solostar pens- good grief! That's how I felt when I went to WalMart looking for 1/2 gauge syringes at first  Sending continued prayers and appetite vines for your crew- I have to much empathy for you having to catch Harvey and pilling him, well, all of your kitties- you are amazing! :YMHUG: :YMHUG:
