yesterday dental

after my mini-worry-fest late last night i got up early to check on the little guy. he came running up the stairs, not talking, but all the way up the stairs in one run without pausing or slowing down. that's a good sign for him. he ate like usual, finished anya's plate, and is now purring on the floor. i don't think he's normal, but he's definitely on the mend. his upper lips look swollen.

gave him the clindamycin & bupe is next.

re yesterday - marje, it definitely wasn't bupe that the vet gave. i'll call today and ask what it was. the word morphine was in it and i think "nor" was a prefix, but it wasn't a version of the bupe word!

cd - was that really punkin in that photo? it did look exactly like him, but it didn't occur to me that it was him til dyana said something. i'm amazed - loved the eye twinkles!

i mentioned in yesterday's condo, but i'll say it again here - i SO appreciate everyone here and this supportive community. don't know how we'd have gotten through the past year without everyone's help & advice. in the past month punkin's gone to a cardiologist, the vet acupuncturist, the regular vet and the veterinary dentist, and every single one has commented on how healthy he is. i'm positive if we hadn't found this site, that wouldn't be the case. In spite of the acro he's thrived and is doing better than i would ever have hoped.

:YMHUG: thank you.

Re: 5/3 punkin 306

I'm glad to hear Punkin is on the mend. I'm sure having those canines taken out is a big deal for kitties and it will take a few days for him to feel "normal", but Punkin is so strong! I don't blame you for worrying...can't help it when you love someone so much!

Keep healing, Punkin!!

Re: 5/3 punkin 306

Punkin has proven himself to be a real trooper. He's put up with so much already, a couple extractions aren't going to keep him down for long!!! I hope he gets back to his complete normal self soon so you don't have to worry!!

Have a good day, Julie. I'll be thinking of you both!!

Re: 5/3 punkin 306

punkin is purring! :-D I can't decide which is better, CPC or purring. It's got to feel strange to him to have the missing teeth and the sutures. I'm so glad to read your good report this morning, Julie. And we couldn't agree more, LL is amazing and we are truly grateful for all the information, encouragement and support that we've gotten here. Zener is thriving because of LL.

I am happy to hear Punkin has so much energy this morning. That's a sign that he really is doing well with great care you are giving him. Good to hear the purring report.

The purring civie on my lap had a canine out at age 6 (two years ago) and it took a couple of days to get over it. He doesn't seem to miss it much, but I sure notice it when he play nibbles.

   Yes, it was your Punkin. I did add the extra twinkles since it was his birthday after all.

It makes me happy to hear how well Punkin is doing and how the vets are so pleased too.
It sounds like he did very well after his dental yesterday and is almost back to normal.

Wow...someone took the fast track to green today!! Good boy, Punkin, that you can get into green when you probably don't feel the greatest. Poor sweetie....hope his lips are better.

That's interesting about the pain med....would love to know what it is.

WOO HOO...a celebration....16,500 posts!!! I'm not sure that means I'm helping as much as it probably means I'm socializing  :o

Hope each day finds our Punkin feeling better. We're so glad you are here, dear friend.

Sorry for the late visit, but surprised to see that 50 :o

punkin sure is doing so well, for everything he has been through, its just amazing wonderful.

Daphne can't even walk up our stairs, so to hear he runs up the stairs is so great too!!

Hope he has slowed down a bit from that 50 for you Julie.

I'm so happy Punkin is doing better! I want to say that I appreciate YOU for all that you have done for me on here. You're always here to support me and give me encouraging words and advice...I hope one day I can be as knowledgable as you and help others with their sugar kitties! :-D :-D

well, fast down but express train up! wowser mr punkin! 378 tonight - i don't know whether to hope he clears this fast or not. i got called in to sub for a friend tomorrow, so DH is going to come home and check punkin tomorrow. not a bad day for him to just stay high.

the name of the pre-surgery drug was hydromorphone - it's given with another drug ave-something.

in any case, he's still about the same tonight. eating fine (SHOCKINGLY) but subdued and his face still looks poufy. when the vet's office called they said it was normal that he was subdued because he was under anesthesia for quite a while.

night night lantus land! :-D

Wow, a dramatic dive AND a big bounce - all in a day's work for the magical punkin. Hope he keeps getting better each and every day!
