Good Morning:)

Ella seems a bit off this morning, she was pacing around a bit but has now settled on her princess pillow. She finished her first breffis with some assistance and then had a smaller than usual poo which was a bit softer as well. Then she brought up a teeny amount of clear vomit. I tested for ketones about 3 hours earlier and she was neg. I took her bg at +10 and it was 371 but then she increased to 455 at amps so I'm not sure if one of the readings is inaccurate.

Hope everyone has a nice day. Sending healing vines to all the kitters and beans that might need them:)

Good morning Tamara.

Your link to yesterday isn't clickable. You need to remove the first / then it will work.

I hope Ella feels better today, and both our kitties show us some much better PMPSs.

Have a good day.

Morning Tamara, just stopping by to wish you and Ella a nice day. I hope, too, she feels better. Have a nice day,

Re: 5/15 Ella AMPS 455

Good Morning, Tamara,
I hope Ella is feeling better as the day progresses. She may be reacting to a stressful day of boarding at the vet's. Is today the day you are going to start using the fresh insulin? I think it would be a good idea to "break the ice", since you said that you would be home today. Her shed should be in sync with the new dose (.75) by now, so that variable would be removed from the mix.
It would be nice to get Ella out of those pink numbers.

Good luck,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 5/15 Ella AMPS 455

+2=450 I'm not staying home as it doesn't seem like she needs me ,although she feels a bit off. I'm hoping it's just due to the bounce. I had to assit syringe feed her as she was not that interested. I'll be home at lunch to check.

Re: 5/15 Ella AMPS 455

+6=365. Came home to check on her. She's having a wee snack. Neg ketones.

Gotta run!

Re: 5/15 Ella AMPS 455 +6=365

Hi Tamara,
Great on the neg ketones, and Ella's numbers are at least going in the right direction.

Good luck with the fresh insulin!

Thanks for visiting me and Daph last night!

Re: 5/15 Ella AMPS 455 +6=365

pmps 320

Since it seems like my insulin is still ok I think I'm going to use a bit more of the older bottle and then transition to the new one over my three day weekend:)

OT: We are travelling to Montreal in two weeks and are thinking of taking Ella with us as we are staying at a pet friendly hotel. She has NEVER travelled farther than half an hour in the car, which she always associates with the vet and her meows are torture to our ears. I'm wondering if it's best for her well being if we leave her here and have someone administer less insulin to keep her safe or have her endure the trip. I'm also curious to know how people keep their insulin at an appropriate temperature duirng longer travels in the car.

Thanks:)

Re: 5/15 Ella PMPS 320

Much better numbers than last night Ella!

Have you tried using Feliway spray in the carrier or putting a couple of drops of Rescue Remedy on Ella's food before vet visits? Neko's not a great traveler either but the Rescue Remedy seems to help. As for traveling with insulin, do you have a cooler/cold packs that you can use to keep it a decent temperature? I once went on a several day summer kayaking trip with someone who was diabetic and he just kept his insulin in the bottom of the boat where it was cooler. You might also be able to buy a cooler that plugs into the cigarette lighter of the car (if it has one).

Re: 5/15 Ella PMPS 320 +1=324

+2=412 Well that was a surprise. She's going the wrong way! Fur shot? Although I didn't feel anything wet.

Re: 5/15 Ella PMPS 320 +1=324 +2=412

+4=421 I have no idea what happened to her bg tonight. Perhaps I didn't get the short needle in the right spot!?
Maybe I should try the longer ones again. Poor Ella:(
