9/6 Rocket- update and prayers

hi LL Family
i haven't posted in a long time and know there are lots of newbies

We took Rocket to the ER this morning.

he is home now

long story short

he has a UTI so abs were given. Xrays taken show a small nodule close by to where the other mass is in the lung...so perhaps the cancer is spreading. Due to the long weekend here i will contact his reg vet tomorrow and see about getting Rocket in for an u/s in order to get more answers.

he was cranky and got a huge workout cause they said that after the xrays were taken they had to put him in the oxygen tank (it is an incubator similar where they put babies)....which is where he remained until i went back there to take him and bring him home....they told me he still has fight in him....

once the u/s is done and we have more answers then a decision will be made....his well being is paramount

no insulin was given today as things went downhill at amps...he was 167 and since he was not eating and seemed lethargic i didn't give insulin....at the ER he got tested and his BG at what would have been +2 was 92....

abs are now in place....all other meds given as well....

no fluid found in lung or abdomen....

though i know he can't live forever this is really heart breaking....as you all know....we have been at this battle for quite sometime....

prayers are surely needed and much appreciated....

Rocket is to turn 19 this coming Sunday Sep 9......prayers for him not to suffer or be in pain....prayers or healing vines....anything is much appreciated and needed....my heart is heavy though he is still here with me....

Claudia, so sorry and I know how heartbreaking it must be, as Rocket is a survivor and not willing to give up. Just when you think it's getting close, they can rally. Sending many healing vines for Rocket and you. (((Hugs)))

(((Claudia and Rocket))) Thoughts and prayers for you two. I know how sad you are feeling...you guys have been through so much together. Thinking about the inevitable is something very hard to do, but a necessary thing. Hopefully it's just a fleeting thought and you guys have lots more time to spend together. In either case, I know you are giving your boy as much love and care that you can give to him...and more.

(((Claudia)))...so many prayers, healing vines, snowflakes, and white light for Rocket. He's a fighter..he has come through every trial with his amazing nurse and the one who loves him most. Please keep us posted.

Claudia and Rocket - you are both in our prayers.

Rocket sounds like such a brave, courageous one. As does his Bean.

Many healing, peaceful vines sent your way. You'll know what to do and when to do it. Rocket, in his feline wisdom will let you know.

Hi Claudia,

I know that Shasta and I are new to the FDMB and LL, but we're not new to the love shared between cat and owner. Bless you and your sweet boy. Sending every healing vine, comfort vine, warm snuggly vines and happy kitty/bean vines I can muster up! I sure do love hearing that he still has fight in him! Good boy! Now you beat that infection and get back to lovin' on your momma bean!

please keep Rocket in your thoughts and prayers....his u/s is booked for tomorrow at 1 pm. I'm taking half day off to be with him....

yesterday morning and lunch he had a better day than in the evening....i went home at lunch today and he ate but looks tired....i have upped his bupe in case he needs it...

we will assess his QOL based on what the results are on the u/s....

please keep him in your thoughts and prayers....much appreciated...

Sending comforting and healing thoughts your way. Rocket sounds like a fighter, and hopefully he has more happy and active time left. The most important thing is that he not suffer, and you'll make the right decisions if they're necessary.

More prayers coming to Canada for Rocket. I hope the U/S goes well and he's all bootiful inside.

the ultrasound was cancelled....it is too risky to sedate him due to his lung being compromised as is with a second tumor

the cancer HAS spread

they got the full report from his xrays taken this past Monday at the ER

no further treatment will/can be done....he is on meds and eventually they won't work

my heart is heavy...but i have made a promise to him today...that i won't waste my time crying for he is still here with me and i need to enjoy him every minute....it is incredibly hard not to shed tears but i need to LOVE him not mourn him....that will be later

please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers....

i will assess his QOL daily like i have been doing....but now i will assess it with a bigger magnifying glass per se.....

keeping it short as i don't want to cry

thank you all for your well wishes....this journey is a tough one to be in

I'm so sorry Rocket isn't feeling well and hope he conquers once again. He's lived such a long wonderful life and is such a brave boy.
