Yesterday Neko started pink but ditched that early and spent the rest of the day and night in green and blue. :-D Today's +4 makes me think she went lower at night.

Today we go to the cardio vet for echocardiogram. I think as part of the package there is blood pressure done, so I'm curious to see how she does on that. It's a two hour appointment, so quite extensive.

Neko hasn't been told yet. She's in the kitchen hoping for more food. She had a good morning, with a nice yard patrol before the rains started again. She seems quite comfortable in yellows. We had a good cuddle and I just had to stroke that tummy fur that might be getting trimmed. :sad: I tried getting out the comb but got told that fingers are OK, but no comb down there. Little love bites followed by licking my fingers, followed by more love bites. :lol:

BP is 144/150 so nice and normal. I am waiting while she is getting gooped for her echo. No shaving, yeah!

Good news! :-D :-D :-D :-D Neko has a mild dynamic RVOT obstruction that is causing her heart murmur, but nothing abnormal for her age and size.
Neko's echo shows overall mild findings that translate into low risk for onset of major cardiovascular events.... combo of age-related cardiac changes and the effect of acromegaly on the overall size of the heart.

She has some mild growth of the left ventrical wall that can be explained by acromegaly and although he can't completely rule out early/mild HCM, he considers it an unlikely diagnosis. We are to monitor the heart murmur for changes in location, timing, or intensity. The murmur itself is caused by a mild growth on the septum wall, nothing unremarkable for a cat her age. If things change in the murmur, a repeat echo may be indicated.

ETA: I recorded the conversation with the vet on my iPhone, I should always remember to do that!

Neko was very good at vetty and is now focused on getting rid of the smell. When they first brought her back to me after the echo, my eyes were stinging from the smell. Poor kitty. I gave her a face cloth cleaning when we got home, but there is still lots of licking required to get rid of the rest.

@Dyana - Neko was the model of not stressed and results looking very good.

@Michelle - The love bites were her way of tell me "enough already!". Thanks for thinking of us.

@Rhiannon - Nothing for me to do, just for her regular vet to occasionally monitor the murmur. Yeah! :-D

@Amy - Her first ever BP, averaged out at 148, I had wondered what it would read as that is something to be aware of for acrocats.

@Carla - The rest of the appointment went as well as the exam. Big sigh of relief for me.

KTSS - Help!!! I STINK!! I think it's a bigger job getting rid of this major vetty smell than I can handle by myself.

Wendy, I'm so glad the cardio visit went well. You sound relieved. Whew.
We need a party tonight, so all Neko's friends can help clean the vetty smell off her beautiful fur coat :smile:

Only down 169 points in 2.5 hours late in the cycle! Show off! :lol: :lol: Daddy bean's lap is getting a good work out today. She smells much better now!

@Barb - After going through HCM not even two years ago with another cat, I was fearing the worst. Big relief for sure! Neko is looking forward to the party.
@Denise - It was so nice to hear the vets first words "overall I have just good news". :-D
@Liz - When my other cat had a echo, I don't remember the stink, but he got shaved so it's different stuff used this time so they don't have to shave. KTSS much appreciated!

@Marje - Neko appreciates the A+, I've always worried about what the acromegaly has done to her, but it sounds minimal for the heart. Neko could sure use that massage from Tobes.

@Lisa - I can't believe how better a traveler Neko is now. This vet was about 20 minutes away but she was so calm in the carrier.
@Josie - Definitely feeling relieved. I love the iPhone recording capability. I'm sure I would have retained maybe 50% without it. :lol:

Hi Wendy - Glad to hear about Neko's results! Nice that they didn't have to shave her. It took AGES for Grayson to grow his belly fur out again! It was funny though - seemed like everyone at the NC State vet school had a shaved belly! You were lucky you could have the ultrasound done at your vet - AND no shaving!

Of course he's a good traveller - after riding to Colorado, a trip to the local vet must be a big relief!

Huh, surfing along at the end of the cycle. I don't normally get a +11, but she was dropping so fast earlier and whining for an earlier supper a tinge more than normal.

@Ella - All I've had so far is coffee, but I like your idea of something special to celebrate. :lol:
@Rusty - The more the merrier for cleanup duty, I'z lookin' for you.

@Roni - Good vetty results seem to be rare lately, so it was sure nice for the change. Thanks for the beverage! Neko is starting to smell better now.

@Mary - Scritches gratefully accepted. We are both sighing in relief.

@Lu-Ann - This was a specialty vet place, but still relatively close to where I live. They have a bunch of specialists in the one building. My previous cat with HCM had an echo done with a traveling vet and had his belly shaved. Long hair so it did take AGES to grow in. Traveling to Colorado has made Neko so relaxed for these short trips.

@Norma - Yup, Canada West it was. They use some sort of special goo that seems stinky but it is nice to have her fur intact. The cardio staff there were very nice there.

@Deborah - The smell is mostly gone now, but she still seems a bit wet. Maybe it's the major grooming. I'll sleep well, only if she'll let me. :lol:

I was kind of expecting this. The previous two cycles looked exactly like the ones before the last reducie. Neko is enjoying the gravy. :mrgreen: :-D

Down to 2.25 units. The last time we were at that dose was March 2012.

A couple tsp of gravy is usually good for 20-30 pts. :-D Just hope she doesn't drop much when the gravy wears off. I'd love to not feed anymore and get to bed earlier.

@Shelly - Seeing the pattern is kind of cool, testing earlier to stop the drop would have been better. :oops:

@Denise - Her acro tumour cells do seem to be dieing off. :-D She's at a perfect surfing level now.
