2/11 Hershey
HAPPY MONDAY...I think...
You may recall that after a busy night, Hershey earned a DEC 2/10 (from .6u to .35u). PM 2/11 brought another busy evening while the depot was draining. It soon became apparent that Hershey was not impressed with the decrease, so 2/13 AM we INC to .5u. Our thinking was that if the .6u had clearly seemed too much, maybe he'd like .5u as he has several times before. We were also hesitant to go back to .6u with Doug's upcoming surgery. During these days, we also compared the Relion Confirm to the Relion Prime we bought (that uses much less expensive strips). We were pleased with how closely they compared. (As of 2/13, we are only using the Prime.)
The .5u dose looked promising...briefly...Tonight, we increased back to .6u. Hoping he likes it...He doesn't seem to mind all these yellows and all P's are in place.
Been running on little sleep this week, trying to get last minute stuff done before Doug's shoulder surgery this morning. We had to be there at 6am and were home by 11am. (I don't do mornings well... @-) ) They gave him a pain block (sorry, the exact term is escaping my foggy brain right now) in his neck that has long since worn off. We know tonight will be the worst of it as his body is wondering what in the world happened to it today. Hoping we can get some sleep tonight because everything is more difficult when you're exhausted. So, now it's 6 weeks immobilized in a sling, at which point we'll learn when he can go back to work. (The surgeon is saying 12 weeks recovery time.) The sweet kitties welcomed him home, showing extra love and sniffing/rubbing all over him to remove the vetty smell. He can't seem to get warm enough and Oreo has been kind enough to spend a good deal of time in his lap, sharing his body heat.
Hoping to get to some condos...Have a great night -
