Hmmm, assuming that +2 was food spike, hopefully, that means he can get down to blue today. :smile:
He wasn't interested in breffis....threw up a little piece of dried-out cheese, he hurried and gobbled, when I came in the kitchen.

It's 10AM and so far, Tux has refused his wet food, but did lick off the sprinkling of FD chicken.

These cats' eating habits are making me crazy.

ETA: woopee....blue!

We seem to have alot of yellow kitties in LL today. Rock on guys, and the blues are next. GO CHECKERS!

oh haha on the cheese... yuck. must have been better the second time around... I so agree on these kitties eating habits. Mannie has been back and forth between two different fuds this AM. One minute one is great, the next it totally sucks... shessh! Eat up guys!

OT...sort of

How long can I hold out against civvie Tux's wet food fast, before I risk hepatic lipidosis?
I thought I was stubborn Irish....sheesh, he must be Irish too!

It's now 10:30 and he has eaten only the chicken dust, and then kibble dust, off his canned food.

10:40.......I won! I won!......he's finally eating!

Hi guys .. yipppee for blue!! Hmm .. I don't really know about how long you can hold off food barb .. Thankfully both our girls seem to always have a good appy .. and so did our GA's before them .. hope you get an answer soon, I know that must be frustrating .. have a great day!

Nice numbers for Checks today.

I'm glad that Tux is finally eating. I don't know the answer to your question, but I think you have to start worrying when a cat goes a couple of days without eating. Here's a link to the mar vista pet library, where you can read about fatty liver:

Most likely Tux just doesn't like what you are offering him to eat!

The Allerplex pill that Rusty takes is actually a capsule. I put a teastpoon of baby food in a little dish, open the capsule and stir the powder into the baby food and then add a little water. Rusty really likes it. It smells like a bouillon cube.

Have a good "spring-like" day. I hope it gets cold again soon. We don't want to have a fast melt because of our basement!

Now to keep Tux eating! My cats always looked on canned as a treat so not hard to transition Tess over. i do remember it took me nearly a year to get her to like Wellness though. After a while they do get to expect it! then there is Emma, she will eat ANYTHING!!!

I've heard that it's the second day of not eating when you have to starting worry about a cat. But it depends somewhat on their weight and how much fat they are carrying as to when hepatic lipidosis can set in.

Today could have been more perfect so far, only if Checkers had been more active.
He lounges on the couch and thinks his own thoughts. Mindless staring, makes me nervous. But then, everything does :lol:

I guess Tux's life is not at risk, if he holds off on eating meals later than usual. He could stand to lose some weight anyway.
He's eating his second wet meal of the day. WooHoo.
