Yuck. Yuck, yuck, yuck. We are paying the piper for yesterday's dips into the 40s and high carbs to bring him up. Did I say "yuck"? We can't remember the last visit to this floor. Appy is ok this morning. I tried to give him some Meruva 2% (that he LOVED last night) - no go. Then a mixture of 2% and 12% (chicken florentine) - no go. So he's eating straight 12% and now napping on Versailles. At least he's eating. :-D Crazy cat.

Thinking of ailing kitties and beans AND all of the OTJ trials AND the newbies who need a little help. Happy Friday!

Re: 4/5 Zener AMPS 520

Morning and Zener, what are ya doing way up there! Time to come down but easy and no dramarama. Oh boy, Zener knows how to get around the Beans to get his favorite fuds! :-D He's eating and that's what's important, and I bet he's enjoying that nap on Versailles now. Sending good appy vines and slide down vines.

Re: 4/5 Zener AMPS 520

Re: 4/5 Zener AMPS 520;+2.5 HI

YUCK indeed! Whatcha doing up there Zener? When you come back down, throw a rope to Mannie, k?

I hope he clears the bounce quickly and sending happy appy vines! Have a great day guys.

Re: 4/5 Zener AMPS 520;+2.5 HI

Ouch! But you know it is just a bounce. Come down nice and slow, Z-man. those visits to the upper limits are certainly unpleasant wake up calls.

Re: 4/5 Zener AMPS 520;+2.5 HI;+4.5 468

I thought I had the wrong condo! Hey Z Man. You don't need to win the high-roller award today! Please come down! (and eat your fuds).

Patience, Fortitude are the words of the day, Liz & Anne!!

Re: 4/5 Zener AMPS 520;+2.5 HI;+4.5 468

No kidding - yuck and WTF! Who knew grr_red this color could look so good? :YMSIGH:

I (Anne aka night duty bean) dropped the meter last night right before his last reading (that went from 88 to 216 in an hour), so thought perhaps the meter could be wonky. Just tested his regular meter and the exact same brand and style we use as his back up - his meter read 468 and the back-up was 455. Darn close for such high numbers. We also are picking up the first Lantus pen we have used and will start that tonight. We've been using the current vial for a little over 3 months, the longest we've used a vial ever. And of course, it's not the meter and it may not be the insulin either, just a colossal bounce.

Yard patrol in progress, and he's decided the MC/LC mix (that makes 7% carbs) is no longer poison.

Re: 4/5 Zener AMPS 520;+2.5 HI;+4.5 468

Omigoodness Liz, you sound like me the other day. I had dropped the meter on the soft rug, but still wondered if that was why the HI. Well then, it must be the strips....nope new ones the same.
Then thought, must be the insulin is toast.
With Checks, it had been pain.
Oh, what we go thru to solve these puzzles.

After a while, I also thought, Red looks good

I'm really glad to see Zener coming down from that big BOING!

Re: 4/5 Zener PMPS 382

Stinky pinky looks so nice after BLECH, UGH and ohmygod_smile .

@Ann & Maggie - holy moly, we were so freaked by today's cycle. Even our senses of humor deserted us.

@Mary & Oliver - we have no idea what he was doing so high. And we sure thought about everything from a dropped meter, to old insulin. Maybe Zener just decided it was time to find Mannie in person. So far, he is following your instructions to slide back down gently.

@Sienne - no kidding, we were totally freaked out.

@Devon - yuckidity yuckidity, we do not like the HI.

@Courtney & Kismet - thanks for reminding us, perhaps this is just a monumental bounce after several cycles with numbers below 50.

@Ann & Tess - well, we know in our heads it is a bounce, but...

@rhiannon & shadow - ropes for our boys and pull please.

@Ella - you are so right, patience and fortitude are the words of the day for us.

@Barb & Checkers - we beans are something, trying to solve the puzzles of BG. ;-) We don't think it is pain related. Other than iffy appy, he has acted like he feels his usual self.

@carla - he is sliding down, paws crossed he keeps coming down to prettier numbers.

What a stressful day for beans. nailbite_smile We've decided we prefer low green numbers to seeing "HI" on the BG meter. It was the first time since Zener was diagnosed and we started home testing that we got the "HI" reading, so we were a little freaked out. :o Tonight we switched to the Solostar pen, so new insulin for the big guy. It will take a little practice to get used to pulling the insulin out of the pen reservoir, but all went well tonight. Appy still not great so we gave him a little appy stimulant, just in case. He is on a downward slide so who knows what surprise he has in store for us tonight.

TGIF to all in LL! :YMHUG:

Re: 4/5 Zener PMPS 382

I'm hoping you can quickly put today and it's ugly numbers behind you. Every once in a while you just get to take it easy on the strips. ohmygod_smile The last time Neko hit that zone was from a bread theft. Those honey laced treats were obviously a hit with Zener.

Easy does it tonight Zener, save the action for tomorrow. I hope you two have a restful night.
