4/9 Kismet PMPS 282

Good Afternoon LL!

Last night was low green surf night for Kizzy. He earned a reducie when he hit 45 @ +3.5, and then surfed in the mid 50s for a few hours. I finally aborted the cycle at +6 (4:30 am for me) and fed some HC mixed with some LC. Kizzy seemed to enjoy all the extra fud he got last night. He is fed 3 mini meals -- at PS time, +2, and then +4, and he hoovered all his normal fud, and then hoovered all the extra LC he got. He ate an extra 3/4 of a can of FF LC, and 2 tsps of HC. When I went to bed, I left out a little bit more of the HC/LC mixture in hopes that it would help him surf. When I woke up this morning, the bowl was licked clean, but he really wanted nothing to do with breffi. I sprinkled some freeze dried chicken shavings, and he lapped at it a little bit. Poor guy, I think he is still full from last night. I also suspect he is a little constipated.

He is VERY vocal when his tummy hurts, and will meow and meow and walk around like he can't get comfortable. I heard him go into his LB several times and kick around the litter, but not much success. At +2, he finally had a small BM and woah was it stinky! He is acting like his tummy still hurts, but he finally did eat a little bit more. His automatic feeder opens automatically at +2, but he hasn't touched it. He's about 1/3 of the way through his first serving of breffi.

I was expecting an astronomical bounce this morning, but was pleasantly surprised to see him in the mid blues! Atta boy! So he was given his reduction this morning, a fat 0.25 u (down from a skinny 0.5u). Please keep your paws crossed that the reducie holds! I figured I'd take him down slowly, and will stick with the fattened .25 for awhile and see how he goes before taking him down to an even .25u.

We had a wonderful time at the PJ party last night... I got to have all the Rasionettes to myself because Marje is apparently too good for them... :lol: ;-) There are a couple of regulars who are up in the dead of the night, so to keep myself awake, I made a little picture of the LL I.C.C.P.J.P kitties.

You are too freakin' funny with that pic! Holy moly on that pj party until 4:30!!!!!! Glad you guys made it through it and that he didn't go boingy boingy this morning. Hope his tummy settles a bit so he can get a good poo out. Congrats on the reduction. You guys are doing so well. Hope you were able to sleep in this morning. If not, hope you can get a nap. Congrats on the reducie! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: Missed the PJ party again, I crashed early when Tess went to pink, silly me! :roll: DH apparently doesn't post on late night duty! I got a feeling that the next one is mine though! I used to be a late night regular, but 3+ years of this are catching up to me!

Hi Deborah, Yup, 4:30am is when he hits +6, but he usually nadirs between +4-+5, so I can typically get to bed by 2:30. Not last night! Thanks for the tummy vines. No rest for the weary, huge paper due tonight. I should be able to get some sleep tonight, though, so long as he doesn't take another dive!

Well... I don't know what's going on with this +5 :? DH shot this morning, so I'm not sure if it was PFS, air shot, or if this is just a bounce. It seems unusual that he'd bounce this late in the cycle, so my guess is not enough insulin got into him today. We switched syringes about a week ago. I had been using the Walgreens Super Thin II, but now we're using the monojects. We've only shot .5u+/- with these syringes, so maybe we need to practice with getting the 0.25u. There doesn't seem to be as much space between the 0.25u and the plunger on the monojects as on the Walgreens. I will see how he goes tonight... I may need to go back to the Walgreens syringes for these micro doses if I can't get the hang with the mono.

Omigosh, how good, that Kizzy didn't bounce to the sky this morning. I'd have a kitty in the black zone, with a night like that!
You think that +5, is just him catching up?

I hope he gets a good LB visit today. Checks is starting to have drier poos, since getting bupe more often. Darn.
I dont remember reading that Kis gets any med other than the Albuterol, right?

Hi Barb! He usually does bounce after hitting lows, but not today for some reason. I have no idea what the +5 is about. He was very flat all morning, and then shoots up at +5? He has never done anything like this except for times when he missed a shot. He has been a little asthmatic the past few days. I didn't hear him coughing, but it could be that he a had a fit and I just don't know about it. It could also be that maybe his tummy is ouchy? He is resting comfortably now in his cat bed and doesn't seem to be breathing hard or having any more tummy discomfort, so Idk!

Yes, that's right, he doesn't take any meds apart from the occasional puff of Alb. I'm thinking that maybe he ate too much, or that the HC upset him a little bit. He is super sensitive to diet change, though 2 tsps of HC hardly counts as diet change, but you never know! He rarely gets constipated, but does get gassy from time to time. He was very smelly this morning :lol: His gas smells like rancid freeze dried chicken... maybe he had too much of it last night from all the pokies?

Hello Courtney - weird visiting your condo when it's daylight out. :lol: All paws and toes crossed here for Kizzy's reduction. Neko delays her bounces a lot to this cycle didn't look odd to me, but ECID. Bad strip? I'm sure Kismet will get back with the program soon enough. Hopefully he'll wait a bit so you can get some sleep after tonight's paper.

Sorry about his sore tummy. Too much gravy and Neko gets the opposite problem. :?

Congrats on the reducie! I hope Kismet will settle into it and the +5 today was just a PFS or FS. Hopefully Kismet's tummy is better now. It sounds like he ate too much last night and it caught up with him. Good luck on your paper. Hopefully you can get some sleep tonight.

Congrats on the reduction, and good luck on your paper! I was lucky to have only one super late night with Star (3 a.m.), and it brought back unpleasant memories of cramming for finals in college a loooonnnnggg time ago. I am way too old for that stuff now. :lol: :lol: But glad you two survived. And, hey, I'm another Raisinets fan, so save me some next time! (Some people just don't know what's good . . .) :lol: :lol:
