Good morning!! ~O) ~O)
Elsa!! What's up for this morning? ice cream mochas? yum yum.

Any advice on what i might do is greatly appreciated
Ollie has taken on this new yellow pre shot number and i'm not sure what that's about. The last month we've hardly seen any yellows and i was liking that. He drops quickly to green but doesn't have those nice long green surfs anymore. I fed him more than usual at amps and +1 hoping to slow down his slide to green, thinking maybe such a quick drop is what's causing his goofy cycles. That didn't seem to work.

All Ps are good. we had a nice long play session this morning. He didn't care for any of his toys but spent about half an hour chasing and batting a milk ring around. And i buy toys, why? His favs are a balled up sock and a milk ring.

Continued prayes for us all. blue skies to everyone!
xoxo mary and ollie

Re: 5/7 OliverTwistamps 236 +2 129 +3 78 what's with the yel

Hi Mary. Looks like Oliver wants you to wear your thinking cap for a while. At least he does beat feet paws to the Lagoon pretty quickly. I hope he gets back to those long green surfs again. He might still be adjusting to the move. Had to laugh at your comment about buying toys. PurrFace loves the milk rings also.

Have a great day Mary. Thank you for your visit this morning.

Morning Mary ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Elsa added an extra drop of ice cream for you. ;-)

I used to feed Mannie on the front end of the cycle too to slow those drops that, way back when, he was so known for. It took a while for that to really take hold, wasn't overnight. but it did tend to level things out for him, and did amke a huge difference in his dropping fast from the get go. I think it was a good month of so of feeding in that manner for it to make a difference.

and yes on the toys.... Milk rings were good, as well as balled up foil. Silly kitties loved the foil balls. and string! LOL, and forget the toys....

Enjoy your day today. I hope it is a good one.

Re: 5/7 OliverTwistamps 236 +2 129 +3 78 what's with the yel

Morning, Mary!!!

The only thing I can think of for the yellows, because his SS looks great otherwise, is "possibly" that he might be going lower after you stop testing. Either that or he's staying lower for a longer time than you realize and maybe that's panicking his liver a bit.

Whatever the reason, I don't think you have any room to edge the dose up....he's already getting into the 50s for his nadir. I suppose if you want to deal with 40s, you could fatten the dose but IMHO, I'd leave him where he is. Ollie doesn't know the difference between 59 and 99. I think the 40s as nadirs just starts to lose that little bit of cushion you have before he drops to 30s.

BTW, just as interesting tidbit of info, Tilly's webpage does state
"...there are some cats that do well with BGs >=40 mg/dl and are difficult to regulate unless the dose is held at BGs in this range, but a cautious approach should be used until you are sure your cat reacts this way.

(The bold is mine.) I do not see Oliver as difficult to regulate and so, if he were my kitty, I would want him just where he is and hopefully he will settle back down. Perhaps after you get the lowest number (like that 59 last night), do one more test routinely and see where he is.

Have a lovely day!

Well, little bouncy boy is flirting with 50.
Thanks John for stopping by.. dairys could charge more for milk since every jug comes with a cat toy
Hi Devon!! You are so right.. some of those toys are so cute I just can't say no. too bad the cats can!
Hi Michelle, Thanks for the heads up on feeding. I will try and hope.... hope springs eternal
Hi Marje... I'm with you on no increase... When i see a number in the low 40s or 30s on someone else's sheet i have to go grab chocolate   .. i'm not ready to flirt with those. I will set an alarm for later in his cycle and see what's up..or down  I did get a 4.5 last night..it was 65 ..ss updated. but maybe he's going lower later... Detective Poke  will be on duty tonight. xoxo

Super. the other option is it could just be that Mr. L just isn't ready to totally surrender and drink the kool aid yet :-D I don't know ;-)

Good luck with the extra testing tonight. I hope it helps you figure out what is going on with Oliver's numbers.

Yes, but wait until it happens to Oliver and you will be able to handle it with skill, confidence, and a bit of nonchalance.

Re: 5/7 OliverTwist pmps 115

OK??? so Oliver is responding to the nocrease threat? whatever....i'll take it.
thanks Marje - cover me. I'm heading down to Mr. L with kool aid ;-)
Hi Carla, Now i'm anxious to see what those middle of the night numbers are... just wish DH would get them
HI Deb, from your mouth to my brain.. i hope. We've learned so much from watching others. Mostly John and PurrFace. I hope i can do as well as they do. I so remember my first low night when i was scared and in tears. It was my birthday and all plans went out the window because Ollie had a pmps 112!!! Marje jumped in and said "you can do this" She directed and we lived through the night. We've gotten lots of hand holding and encouragement since then.
Yes, but wait until it happens to Oliver and you will be able to handle it with skill, confidence, and a bit of nonchalance.
I hope so. One day, maybe i can even help someone else.

Re: 5/7 OliverTwist pmps 115

Looks like Ollie really doesn't care for that yellow floor at all...very nice numbers today, despite the AMPS.

Have a great evening, Mary!
