Peepee is feeling pretty good today. She doesn't know yet that she is going to vetty in a couple of hours for recheck for UTI.The visit usually raises her sugar a lot. She is so scared there that she is paralyzed, good for exam though. She ate good this am, don't know if that is on her own or from Cypro 13 hrs. ago.

Re: 7/5 Peepeee amps-107

Peepee is back from the vetty for a recheck on her UTI. A wasted trip and it is an hour away. I had an appt. with the owner that I saw last week. I saw a new vet as the owner wasn't available. This was a young girl (looked about 18). I usually like young dr's right out of school. Most of our dr's hear are country doctors that you have to twist there arm for any tests. She couldn't get pee out of her or her sister because they always pee on the way there. So we have to go back early some day and leave them there.
Here's what PO'd me to no end. I took civie there because she pees on the couch sometimes, usually when she gets mad because I won't feed her. She has a real attitude. Don't feed me I will tear this up! DH is convinced it is mental. So every once in a while I take her in for UTI check. I told vet she has had crystals in urine when she was on dry food. She took her in back and no pee, but returned and said she treated
her for UTI just in case. Will give her an antibiotic shot. I said"what kind"and she said Covenia. I said"NO"She said why not, all our customers ask for it. I said because it is bad. She looked at me smiling smugly and said "did you see that on the internet?" I said yes, then lied and said the 2 previous dr's would'nt give it to me because of the long duration of side effects.
She ran back to stop tech from giving shot, but it was already done. Problem, doesn't know if UTI, doesn't know her history,i.e.
past reaction to meds. My doctors always ask about allergies to meds. I am so mad. She is the easiest cat to pill. I am burning thru
dr's here.Sorry for the rant.
Well anyway Peepee is eating good now, still on AB

Re: 7/5 Peepeee amps-107

Much nicer PeePee numbers now. She must be feeling better. Bummer on the vets, especially since you don't have much choice of who you see. Have you ever tried Feliway diffusers to see if the help the peeing problem?

Re: 7/5 Peepeee amps-107

Hi Wendy, I did ask for Feliway at the vet, but they were out. I have some that expired a couple of years ago. I think I will use that now and see. Maybe get some more tomorrow. Gonna get some of that "don't pee here anymore" stuff too if you can use it indoors.
Thanks Wendy!

Re: 7/5 Peepeee amps-107

Cheapest place I found for buying Feliway is at Petsmart. Might want to check a few specialty pet food stores or try ordering on line.

ETA: I think Amazon has good prices too.

Re: 7/5 Peepeee amps-107

Hi Doreen. Glad to see Peepee in the near green numbers and feeling better. What an experience at the vet! I don't blame you for being upset. I hope you're able to track down a good, friendly and competent vet.

Have a great evening.

A little vetty stress pmps. Her first vet insisted on curve at vets office. Sure makes a difference on numbers. No wonder so many kitties are overdosed in the beginning.
Wendy- I found my Feliway- it expired in '07.LOL I still used it. I'm gonna order tonight. thank you
John- thanks for the visit- I feel better now after ranting.

Have a good night!

I'm so glad to see Peepees BG back to normal. Poor sweetie....what a wasted trip and stress. Have you ever tried Bach Flower Rescue Remedy for Pets (no alcohol). My cats respond well to it.

I'm sorry about the Convenia. I'd have been really mad, too. I hope she didn't charge you for it but the fact that she did it would have fried me, too.

I hope they are both ok.

That's an interesting item. I'm gonna order that too. How much do you use. I read that you put it in water, but she doesn't drink water. Can I put it in her food and how much? I think I can take it for me too!

Thanks Marje for the suggestion.

I've also used the Rescue Remedy before trips. Just a couple drops on the food works. There is a human version too, with alcohol.
